The 'Vinonomics' of a wine bottle

That has to be a breach of trading standards, or possibly the English language, under no circumstances should anyone be allowed to call that wine.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

One of my few regrets is not having a 'sophisticated palate' for wine tasting
Can't say my palate is all that sophisticated.
I know what I like though....
Some of which can be had for under a tenner, but sadly, some are a tad pricier.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Best choice for you Hamish is being patriotic. What`s wrong with Scottish wine?

I think you're partly right in the production costs, but I can assure you that if you've made something a retailer is only willing to pay 47p a bottle for, it's not going to win any medals.
Oh I don't know. Jacob's Creek Chardonnay seems to be an IWSC silver medal winner and you can get that for a fiver from ASDA. Or less, if you buy 6 bottles for £25. Not that I paid that much for it myself. £3.13 a bottle is what I got it for, I think.:)0 -

I don't think it qualifies as 'wine' if it is distilled.:)
The only Scottish wine I'm aware of is Chateau Largo

P.S. Buckfast does not count. The Scots may well drink it, but it is Devonian not Scottish.:)0 -

Everything.
Although as it turns out, you can drink single malt by the wine glass, so in a pinch....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

The truth is that study after study has shown that not only that most people can't tell the difference between cheap and expensive wine, those people that claim to be wine experts can't tell the difference either.

The really interesting thing about 'vinonomics' is that it's 99% bovine excrement.:)0 -

Perhaps, but it is fairly well accepted that most people like certain styles of wine over others.
There are cheap wines I like. And expensive wines I like.

That sounds like the sort of thing someone that drinks £3 a bottle wine says to make themselves feel better....;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
