You say it is a 4 bedroomed house and that you are retired so I'm guessing there is only 1 or 2 of you living there. You don't say where you live.
Prices in the area with the highest charges can be 3 times as much as other areas; also the OP pays for surface water drainage, and you may not.
Also when metered living in a 'large 4 bed home' with two people is not a factor; your charges would be substantially the same if you lived in a small 1 bed property.0
