Avro monarch and BD flight prefix

We bought flights to Kefalonia via monarch Avro website and they sold us seats on flights with BD flight prefix. Bmi britush midland?? Flight was delayed and we were put on a Thompson holiday flight instead by groundstaff, suffering a delay and Monarch reject our claim and advise us to contact airline and we think airline now extinct but then owned by Lufthansa who do not respond to our enquiry. Who can we claim against?? Has anybody else tried to claim for delay of flight BD8372 kefalonia to Manchester?

Well Flightstats is only showing two flights that day, one with Thomas Cook and the other with Thomson assuming Argostolion to Manchester and both flights were on time. I also have doubts re your BD prefix ~ consequently I feel you may need to do a little more research as I'm drawing a blank! Your post starts of with MAN to EFL route then mentions EFL to MAN ~ which route was the delayed one?0

Hi 111KAB
Thank you for your post and help. The delay was Kefalonia to Manchester. Our BD8372 flight was either cancelled or delayed, can't remember which but a plane did arrive eventually and took most of the passengers leaving us and we were put on a Thompsons holidays flight as I assume they had spare seats and ground staff sorted it. BD is the prefix on the confirmation we received from AVRO. I have all the notes at work and will double check next week but as far as I remember this is correct. We got into Manchester around midnight and to a different terminal than we departed from. It was raining, dark and I had my flips flops on and had a right job getting my car.0 -
If you enter the flight details into EU claim...
the original flight number if you flag it as delayed and state you did not receive a replacement flight shows no compensation due so I can only assume the delay on the original flight was delayed less than 3 hours
entering the flight as delayed but receiving TOM2709 (arrival 22:22) as replacement flight shows compensation due
Given that it seems that the original flight left (on a different plane) but left you behind, assuming this was due to a smaller aircraft and not you missing the boarding, you could put a claim in for denied boarding
British Midland claims are dealt with by BA (not Lufthansa) so it is worth checking on the BA thread and reading Vauban's guide re claim0 -
Dear CAZ3121, SUPER... thank you. I will check the thread and make a claim.0
