Natwest - receiving faster payments slowly today?

Hi,

Usually faster payments appear in my Natwest account immediately - I've sent one this morning and it hasn't appeared yet...

Anyone else noticed any slower faster payments this morning, before I start stressing?

FP are only guaranteed on the same day (not instantly) between participating banks. Though as you know they are usually instant.

There could be a number of reasons it's taking longer:
1. Is it a new FP setup and did the details get input correctly? (worse case scenario)
2. Is it a large amount? It maybe over the FP limit or be enough to be put on hold for a fraud contact making sure it's you who did the transfer.

I'm sure it will be fine if all the details were OK so don't panic and wait till they contact you or it appears.

They are guaranteed by the end of the next working day, subject to passing any checks the bank might carry out.

Just out of interest, what makes you assume that it's a delay at NatWest's end rather than the sending bank?

It's a Friday, turn of the month and a Bank Holiday weekend, I suspect its just the volume of transactions slowing things down.

Payments, which used to take anything from 2 to 3 days or longer
now turn up immediately and if not... We are worried
been there done it but at least the new system works reasonably well.
