    You can do this with Barclays transfers between accounts. Instead of clicking "pay now" click "pay later" and you'll get the notation field then blob the pay now and it will transfer straight away with the notes :-)

    Thanks to all for the feedback, Crystallady that sounds like a great workaround.

    With that said, the idea of backing up records is appealing to me. What financial software are you guys using?
  • Excel... Google a couple of tutorials, pivot tables and data validation are especially useful, and you will never need any other software.
