Is it worth using a registry cleaner and if so which one is reccomended and how much (approximately) is it likely to cost please?.
Am already running Norton systemworks which checks the registry when I run One Button Check Up - is this doing the same job as a registry cleaner?
Thanks for any advice/help

also get norton off ur pc, its useless0 -
I have used a large number of registry cleaners in the past, but with Windows XP they seem more likely to cause problems than fix them.
Why do you want a registry cleaner - are you experiencing specific problems or just want to keep your PC running smoothly? If the latter (and you're running XP), I really wouldn't bother using one.0 -

Although to be fair, you actually put in the effort of adding the link."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I have yet to see a registry cleaner, that doesn't clean too much.
This will compact the registry, but won't delete random keys that it doesn't understand.

Don't expect miracles from any of this sort of softwareEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
I have xp and have used ccleaner like everyone else it would seem and it is very good I have never had a problem whilst using it and even if you do there is an option to back up anything you delete so if it causes a problem you can just restore it.0

Definitely agree, when it gives you the option ALWAYS backup the registry."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
