PCN at Asda, Bangor, Gwynedd

The photo on the PCN I received showed that the camera clock at the car park entrance was one hour slow! This meant that my two hours free shopping time was reduced to one hour. On appeal (with suitable photocopied evidence) my charge was cancelled. I wrote to the manageress of the store but one week later have not received any reply. Yesterday I used the car park again and this time sat a large radio controlled clock on my dashboard where it could be seen by the camera.

alas , a good idea but doomed to failure

the system used by companies like this is a version (hacked and altered) of ANPR , it is set so that it takes a photo of your numberplate as you enter the car park and records a time , a second camera (or maybe the same one) takes a photo of your plate as you are leaving , and records the time , the computer then wizzes into action , with the speed of a government "super computer" *** and compares the times , if you have exceeded them it then rings the DVLA up , tells them you are a bad person , promises to send them a PO for £2.50 , and a nice man gives them all your info.

the "super computer" then grabs your photos , and some nice txt , carries it to ratchell L****** who then performs 27 checks to see if the computer is lying , and pops a stamp on it

    Ok my cynical view

"super computer" *** owned by capita , based in a UK government establishment ,

    sorry , cannot exaggerate!

Super computer? Ha! ANPR/VNPR software will function perfectly well on a standalone middle-of-the-road PC. Even Crapita can run to that. :)
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
