I can't thank your post as you sound so sad
:grouphug: I'm giving you this instead.
I have no idea about stoneware hopefully someone on here does.
Aww thank you Aesop, that is very kind. It's just been a very crappy couple of weeks with one thing after another, and it was just the last straw for me this weekend with the !*!@%# dish! :rotfl:

JustStartingOut, I'm so sorry to hear about your calamity:eek:. The lasagne sounded fabulous and you'd obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make it special. A saucepan 'flew' out of my hands last week. Only contained mashed potatoes but I was really upset all the same as I'd added real butter for a once-in-a-blue-moon treat and a splash of cream I had left over.
I've got stoneware and pyrex dishes, all years old, but unless I'm putting the dish on the table and serving something directly from it (for guests) I prefer pyrex. I like to see things cooking and bubbling away when I open the oven door:j.0 -

My sister-in-law is fortunate to be able to afford the le-crueset dishes  and swears by them ( probably couldn't afford one even at half price unless I buy one of those tiny individual ones :rotfl:). I've seen a denby one on sale, (nothing to do with the fact it's blue so will match my kitchen, honest):p but if glass is better/just as good then I'd maybe just buy another of them.Make £5 a day in August£21.54/£155
