Aesop, what a fab idea about using the coins in the self service tills! I've never thought of that before! I too am guilty of giving coinstar 10%.....0

well it's one way of getting rid of your change and if you overpayie the item is only 50p and you put in £3 of change, (fast enough), you will get the change back in bigger value coins
and now you won't be giving coinstar some of your hard earned money0 -

Sorry not to have updated my extra cash lately, been very occupied on other things but at last have a minute to breathe:j
Well done to all who have posted their results and kept on giving encouragement and tips:T. Boy, this thread moves so quickly! I had pages and pages to read. Will respond to a few later if I'm not needed urgently elsewhere. Welcome to all the new members:wave:, I hope you'll love this thread as much as I do.
More to update later but for now I need to confess that I gambled over £6 with an online bookie on Thursday evening:o. Might have been asking you all for a good slap now but it worked out brilliantly:j.
Didn't actually spend any 'new' money, I discovered this in an old account when I was going through to see if I was entitled to any 'freebies' or cashback or anything. Can't think how this money was left in there, I thought I'd withdrawn every penny.
Just had a sneaking hunch that the Conservatives would win a majority in the election (and it's not just with hindsight:rotfl:). As the odds were 10 to 1 it seemed silly not to have a bash. Put the lot on and ended up winning £67.25 which made staying up all night watching the results come in even more 'fun' than usual. Have closed account now I've withdrawn the money, I can't afford to make a habit of gambling:eek:0 -

Thanks for the link ,Aesop:T.
Have put my gambling winnings into my Emergency Fund. Not strictly emergencies but car tax, MOT and car insurance renewal all due at end of June/beginning of July. Don't want to spend anything at all that isn't essential until they're out of the way, just in case another car emergency comes up:eek:.
Have had a few sales which I can tot up by tomorrow so should be able to buy the phone out of that without taking anything out of my bank account (which has precious little in at the best of times:o0 -
