2 - 6 weeks for refund on a cancelled flight

Hi,
My flight was changed from 2nd October to the 4th October by the airline company as I cannot do this date I cancelled my tickets. I have finally got them to confirm they will refund me my payment but they say it take 2 – 6 weeks for the refund to be processed.
They refuse to send me a confirmation that the refund is being processed anything I can do.
