Hi. I don't come on this board often but would like your help please.

I currently have a Sony Ericsson W800i but am getting increasingly frustrated with it as I think the joystick thingy is on its way out. I want to buy a new phone without the joystick thingy. I have done a bit of research and got totally confused by the vast amount of phones on the market. :o I think I have whittled it down to 3 phones. I am interested in Samsung D900 (the real slim one) or Sony Ericsson Z610i or Z750i.
Any of you have these phones and can give me your thoughts on them, good or bad.

Or if you could help me choose a phone my wants/needs are.......
~~ease of use with buttons as I have chubby thumbs :D
~~no joystick thingy
~~play MP3's as ringtones
~~must be able to take memory card
~~must have bluetooth
I think thats all for now.....if I think of anymore I'll come back.

Oh and I'm with 02 if that matters.

Thanks all for any help or advice you can give me :D

I have a k800i (wobbly joystick thing) and my gf has the d900.

The interface on the d900 is a little "noddy" for my taste - although the gf sees that as "easy to use". The camera is good, although not quite as good as the one on my Sony (;)) and the features are all pretty standard.

The D900 is, however, incredibly slim/light/pretty. Which counts for a lot with the gf :)

I don't actually have it yet (had to leave O2 to PAYG and am porting back for a new deal at the end of the month) but am going to get a D900i. This is a slightly updated version of the D900 and also has an FM radio. Might be worth knowing...
  • i have the d900, and it is the worst phone i have ever owned. the battery life on it is appauling, the message tones are pants the volume of the phone is poor. would certainly not recommend it to anyone. i had a sony ericsson before it and im going back to one, i liked it because it was slim and had a good camera but the bad points outway the good. sorry hun

I had a D900 and was a great phone until it got water damaged therefore killing it ! through insurance vodafone offered me a Samsung Z720 which has all the features of a D900 but better software and 3g (even better when vodaphone software is removed !)
Personally would recommend any samsung phone

do you like SEs other than the joystick? they do some with a pad version of that instead. Just check you're happy with the build quality.

Yeah I do. If I could get rid of joystick and replace with a pad on this phone I'd keep it.
