Turkmenistan Airlines Cancelled flight and moved me to another day

Hi Guys,
I was meant to fly out on the 2nd October 2015 I was notified by another travel agent that the 2nd is a Friday and Turkmenistan no longer fly out on Fridays.
After calling the Airline they have informed me they have moved my flight to 4th October.
What can I do ?
(I am flying from Bham airport to Amritsar India)
Do I contact the airline company or my travel insurance ?

The schedule has changed - you can rearrange your plans or get a refund and then rebook on another route with another carrierif you want.
As it is so far ahead there is no additional compensation - and as you will be entitled to a full refund it isn't an insurance issue.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

then either accept the date they have offered or select an alternative date that they do fly
Where there are cancellations the airline must advise you at least 14 days before departure of the change to avoid having to pay compensation.0 -

you need to be practical though. The airline will not reschedule their timetable to put the original date back on if the new date does not suit you. So the next step is, now you know there is no compensation or insurance claim, is decide what works best for you.
You can either select an alternative flight with the airline on another date that suits better or accept a refund. You could try and see if there are any other carriers that operate your original route and date and try and get the airline to transfer you under EU261 rerouting but I am guessing this is not a well served routing by multiple airlines0 -
There is no other airline operating that route, if there was no one would fly with this airline at all. As everyone has advised, your choices are to accept the change or take your money and book an alternative route with Air India for example but at whatever additional cost that may incur. Reviews for the airline are 'mixed' but it seems one of the big gripes is a complete lack of in flight entertainment so make sure you bring something to amuse yourself.0
