Fonecare Mobile Insurance Help!

I am absolutely stuck and wonder if anyone can help???
I purchased a Samsung S2 on 02 (who i have been with for over 10 years on PAYG & Monthly) about 3 1/2 years ago. When i purchased the mobile the guys in the shop set up the insurance with a company called Fonecare stating they were the cheapest and best one to use as they charge all phone just £8 a month. Last year i upgraded my mobile to a Samsung S5 which i loved! Sadly i lost my mobile on the friday night and after searching everywhere and contacting police this was sadly gone for good. I contacted my insurance company who stated that i had an S2 on the account not an S5 and therefore would not replace it. When the account was first taken out i thought it was open insurance (im not the greatest as these sort of things which is why the guy at the shop did it for me) so i didn't update it on the account (i know my fault!) 02 told me to send them a proof of usage to show i have an S5 but they will not accept this and say its my fault. So now i cannot get a replacement phone and am completely stuck as i cannot afford one either. The Fonecare company advertise a landline on their webste (]www .fonecare. gg) but it is in fact just an automated service telling you to go to their website (helpful!) so i have been having to email them which they have now stopped replying to.
Is there anything i can do??? I am £80 out of pocket as i have paid then £8 a month for the last 10 months and absolutely skint.
Please help

It's hardly a news that all mobile insurance companies will use every possible excuse to avoid paying. That's why when paying £8 p.m. for years it's worth spending 15 minutes on making sure that you know what exactly you are paying for - instead of relying on some 'guys'.
I think the best you can do is to try claiming back £80 that you paid for nothing, but most likely they will refuse again and (rightfully) say that your S2 was still insured.
As a side thought, if you are "absolutely skint" then you possibly need some cheaper phone than S5 and have to stop wasting £100 p.a. on insuring the expensive toy that you can't afford.0 -
Dont see any excuse OP insuranced something and is now expect insurance to pay out on a different product .0
