    Couple UU:

Dove invisible roll on deodorant - WMBA it does the job okay but I didn't like the scent so much.

NSPA clementine body butter - WMBA I love the scent of this but I prefer the formulation of boots or body shop butters and I find they sink in faster as this one felt quite greasy to me. I love NSPA packaging though!

Been at work since 4pm yesterday as I did normal shift + sleep in + covered today and just got home an hour ago so I'm looking forward to a good bath/pamper session tonight and a dvd watching marathon after my bike ride this evening. I've been in the kitchen today at work and was helping our residents clean out the chicken coop and sorting the bunnies etc out last night so I feel seriously manky, lucky I have so many nice bath goodies stashed to make me smell acceptable again :D

Clinique custom repair serum is amazing on my fine lines. I've lost some lines completely in less than a week. I got asked my age when buying alcohol the other day at the supermarket. I think it was more the think 25 than thinking I was 18 but still!!!

But then i saw the price of the Clinique and I can't afford that. Does anyone know of a similar product. I know no 7 protect and perfect doesn't work for me. It's really evened out my skin I was just wearing be cream and a bit of powder today and I was really impressed.

Hello! I didn't get on well with the P&P serum either. For a super-budget serum I've been impressed with Superdrug's own lines. They are often on half price offer. I was also pleased with Boots Botanics (at half price) but didn't find one I wanted to stick to. (I have the triple youth something or other in my serum queue :rotfl:). If you want to spend a bit more then I often hear people raving about the Olay ones - the regenerist line has really good anti-ageing ingredients. The night one was too much for my skin but the three point one seems good. Again, these are often on offer. (There are lots of useful reviews online that could help you choose which would be most suitable.) I have lots of random serums from discount websites and beauty boxes to use up but I'd definitely re-buy from the Superdrug Optimum range and I recently bought the Clearly Youthful serums. (Again, the night one seems too strong for my skin but the daytime one is great and it's currently £3.49. If you don't ever have spots I'd choose the Optimum range over the Clearly Youthful though.)

I'd be interested in other peoples serum recommendations as I enjoy trying new ones more than any other product :)

Just found this thread. It's good to know i'm not alone!!
What's the procedure? Do you all make a list of stuff and decide what to use up first, then commit to do just that? Mine will be a VERY long list!

    Welcome! :D

If you jump to the first page of this thread you'll find an explanation of the challenge and all of the abbreviations that we use. It's easy to get the hang of so jump right in if you're ready :)

We all do the challenge slightly differently. I think it takes a while to figure out what is most useful to do. I found making a list very helpful (and eye-opening!) but I don't post my list here. (My first list was handwritten and I've never typed it up on my computer.) I keep a running list of things that I buy on my computer and also the things that I use up (on my Kindle). I now keep a smallish box of things that I'm currently concentrating on and that has made things easier. Actually, I have lots of little boxes and systems on the go and my OH finally noticed the other day. He said "you're building a barricade of makeup!" (he refers to toiletries as makeup too). I replied that one box was things that I was working on and the other was empty containers of things that I've used up this month. Somehow he was more confused by the idea that I was "working" on things than the box of empties! :rotfl: (I'm going to bin the empties at the end of the month. Seeing them stack up has been a great motivator.)

    I hope that helps :)
  • Hello all,

here are my UU's to report.

Loreal absolue make up remover eye & lip 125ml. Very good value for money, removed make up easily without irritation. Will buy again.

Body shop sea weed pore cleansing facial exfoliator. 75ml. Better for oily skin, my skin is normal. Every time I used this stuff I managed to get it in my mouth and it tastes horrid. Even when I made sure I did not open my mouth even a tiny bit I could taste it. Maybe I was absorbing it through my skin. Will not buy again.

Number 7 protect & peffect dry hand cream 10ml from my advent calendar. Ok stuff but will not go out of my way to buy it.

GlamGlow face pack. Absolutely fab stuff. It is expensive but works wonders on break outs and dries out spots faster than anything I have ever found. Will buy again but not yet because it is very pricey.

Akin unscented very gentle shampoo 225ml. Absolutely wonderful stuff for sensitive itchy scalp. Will buy again when I have used up some more things from my stash.

Mise perfect repair conditioner. Nice buy nothing special, will not buy again.

Nice to see everybody, welcome newcomers

    Kiss

UU No 7 Lift and Luminate day serum. Didn't like it but used it as an extra layer under the other serum I'm currently using up.
INS - two tubes of charcoal toothpaste. Not cheap but use it diligently so it won't hang around too long and the other stockpiled toothpaste is being used up by the OH so seems to think the line of paste should hang off each end of the brush!
    Looking ahead

Good to see everyone is doing well!

    UU:

Dove hand cream 75ml - Did the job but I prefer scented hand creams so WNBA.

VO5 Give Me Moisture Conditioner 500ml - WBA but I still have two more of these to use up in my stash. It's great value for money, especially since you can find it in discount stores fairly easily.

The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel 250ml - WDBA Love the scent of this and it lathered up really nicely.

    IN:

2x Korres Bergamot Pear Shower Gel 250ml - they were buy one get one free so I couldn't resist. :o

Another IN - lip plumping gloss to test - have tried it and although felt my lips tingle I didn't notice any difference :p

Have managed to avoid the M&S toiletries sale, had several in my basket and the closed the page down :o

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

I have 4 lists, none of which include any make-up as I use so little (but after finding a fair bit during a declutter I'm reconsiderig using at least at a weekend, whilst still not planning on listing/counting as I'm extremely unlikely to be tempted to buy anything else unless a mascara runs out/dries up as that's the one thing I do use from time to time).

The first list is of things I've used up, given away or thrown away. This list is slowly growing which helps keep me going :) Currently at 40 items since the start of the year, and whilst an average of 8 a month doesn't seem many compareed to what I see others listing I know it's one heck of a lot more than I finished up last year (probably in the last couple of years or even longer if I'm honest) :T

The second is the things I have out for regular use - ie. one toothpaste in each place I clean my teeth, one shampoo and one conditioner in the shower, one moisturiser in the en-suite where I get washed in the morning etc.. I don't expect this list to shrink much (as I use something up I replace it from elsewhere, but there are a few items on it I have no intention of replacing once I finish all I own which means it should shrink in the future ;)), and it's actually grown a little bit as I've brought out things I already owned to build into my regular routine when I wasn't already using anything similar to finish off first (such as hand cream and foot cream). This list currently has 94 entries.

The third is things I own that I've already openened and then abandoned in the past. This is the first list I check when looking for a replacement for something I've just finished off. This starts to shrink, and then grows again when I sort through more boxes and find more stuff :o First target is get through this list, but even that could take me years so for now I'll just be happy to see items being moved into use (and finished off). 114 items at the moment !!!

The final list is things I've bought and never yet opened. As of yet there's very little on here that's not on the previous list (hair dye being a notable exception), so it'll be a while before I start to see this getting any shorter - and it's another that grows when I do more house decluttering :( Currently at a staggering 189 items

The idea, for me, is that in a (fairly hefty) number of years I'll have an ever growing list one, a fairly static list two, no list three, and a minimal list four (no more than one replacement for most things - more only if I keep/use in more than one place or buy multiples of stuff I use up reasonably quickly to make a good saving, and then only what I can use in a reasonably short space of time)

    Morning Beauty Queens

I hope you're all well and ready for the weekend, I know I am

Quick update to kick things off:

INS My Rituals Box has arrived :T I am so chuffed with it, so many yummy things to use and love for less than £20, a total bargain. I really like the smell on first sniff it smells clean and fresh and a bit spa-y (you know what I mean :D) and quite unisex, I think DH will like it too. I have ordered another for my sister and it's being delivered to her at home, I haven't said what it is, just to look out for a box that smells :rotfl: Willowbee, I don't know what your tipple of choice is so you'll have to make do with this

    PP Update
    Superdrug Naturally Radiant Day Cream
    Estee Lauder ATZ Eye Cream
Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm (rollover)
    Boots Time Delay Cleansing Oil
Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black
Estee Lauder Doublewear Concealer in 02 Light/Medium
    Stila Angel Light Powder Foundation
    Rituals Shanti Shower Oil
    TBS Frosted Cranberry Shower Gel
Superdrug Skin Soft Age Care Body Lotion

The Boots Time Delay cleansing oil is gone, WDBA, I thought this was blimmin' lovely. More effective than the No7 version (which I have a stash of), less stinky than the L'Oreal version (which I also have a stash of :() , I got this for half price so ~£3 which is a bargain. Bear in mind the bottle does not have a pump, dropper or any of that shenanigans so I would recommend decanting into an appropriate container to avoid losing product down your plug'ole :)

UU Balance Me Cleanser; I WNB, this was in a Birchbox and it was pleasant enough, it smelled nice when applied but within five seconds smelled a bit "off". I understand the environmental benefits of using an oatmeal scrub over a plastic-beady affair but as far as my skin is concerned I couldn't spot the difference.

The Stila foundation got finished on DD last night. Long since discontinued but WNBA even if I coukd, very easy to over apply and get cakeface. I much, much prefer MAC Studio Fix.

Speaking of DD, I drove all the way to Wales after a very busy work day to apply her prom face yesterday. She looked gorgeous, even if I do say so myself :) Please note, she didn't wear my dress in the end, a fickle 16YO?! Unheard of :rotfl: Here she is!

UU Dove Cream Bar; WDBA, HG

I also UU the Benefit mini eye cream I started about 2 weeks ago, it was only 3ml but 5ml of the EL ATZ eye cream lasts me about 2 months so this was pretty rubbish. Also made my eyes sting and didn't hydrate well at all, so definitely WNBA.

DH is booked in (last minute) for his third kidney op on Wednesday :( This is proper surgery rather than telescopic so he'll be in for a few days and has been told he will need to stay off work for at least 3 weeks so I shall apologise in advance if I disappear.

I had more I wanted to say but I think I've waffled on long enough :o Enjoy your BH, everyone :) xx

Thanks! The scent reminds me of the L'Occitane Almond oil range. I love the body/linen spray - I used to use it at night to help me sleep :)

Your DD looks beautiful :) I hope that she has a wonderful time at her prom. Glad the dress crisis was solved in the end! :rotfl:

All best wishes to your DH for his op. I hope it goes perfectly and he has a speedy recovery.

    Xx
