I heard that about Dallas Willowbee although I have never bought it myself. I also heard that Nars Doucer (not sure that's how you spell it) blush has been discontinued but have not tried that either. It's one that is often raved about by beauty bloggers.

Just got me thinking - what hyped up beauty product have you bought and been most disappointed by?

Mine is Sheer Glow foundation by Nars. Just could not get on with it at all, with or without a primer. It seemed to separate on my skin and just looked awful!! I sold it on Ebay in the end. So many people seem to love it so might just be my skin!! Guess different things suit different people.

I also couldn't see what the fuss was about with the Aesop parsley seed mask. I had a few sample sachets of this and didn't think it was any better than the una brennan clay mask, which is considerably cheaper. Perhaps I would have noticed a difference with more regular use but decided not to buy after using up the samples.

Willowbee - I have the Stila In the Light palette too - it is really lovely. I also have the little mini palettes they brought out recently with a girl on the front, there are 3 of them one is called The Natural, one called Dare to Bare and there is another too - these are gorgeous.

KT2802 - I know plenty of older ladies with gorgeous skin who have had a very simple skin care routine, I think genes are the main factor and spending crazy money like Caroline Hirons does won't change that. When I get my stash whittled down I intend to have a very pared back approach to skincare.

In The Light quickly became my everyday palette. It's the easiest set of eyeshadows that I have :) I remembered Kate from Ghostparties saying she thought it was better than the Naked 1 or 2 if you had a very pale complexion. I'm so glad that I have it although I'm often lazy and just use 'Kitten' and a swipe of eyeliner :rotfl: It fits nicely in my makeup bag so it's my travel palette as well :D I also love the very dark brown liner it comes with.

I think I'll have a similar approach to skincare once I've whittled everything down (it might be years yet!!). I'll always use a serum of some kind as they rarely upset my skin and seem to be the best way of getting some active ingredients into my routine. Other than that most things will be more 'natural'. I will always use a natural facial oil a few evenings a week as it's the fastest way to soothe my skin. I still haven't found my HG eyecream and I struggle with SPFs irritating my skin :( I'm kind of relieved the CH box was priced so high as it made my decision easier! :rotfl: I still wobbled a little when I read about a few of the products but the main thing that stopped me was thinking about expiration dates and all the things I still want to UU before they go off  That and the fact that Liquid Gold made my skin horribly red so I definitely didn't want another bottle of it :rotfl: :rotfl:

My treat that I'm saving up for once I've used up a significant amount of toiletries and makeup is to get the Liberty London freebie that comes around once a year. It's usually spend £150 and you get a beautiful Liberty wash bag packed with around £150 of samples. I did it around three years ago and the bag still looks new and is my everyday makeup bag. I don't think I deserve it this year yet...

ETA It was 2011 that I got the offer! Then it was spend £90 and get £150 of gifts. More recently it has been spend £150 and get £300 of gifts. It happens in September.

Great question! My most recent disappointment was the L'Oreal 24h Matte foundation. Fortunately it was my freebie in the buy 2 get one free last month but I'm still disappointed! Sooooooo many bloggers have raved about this and said it had amazing staying power. On me it looks cakey and wears off after three or four hours, even when set with powder  I finally saw a review that echoed my experience so I felt less mad/weird :rotfl:

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser was an expensive fail for me. That went oily on me really quickly. I still have it and try it now and again but it's always the same!

Bliss Triple Oxygen + C Moisturiser was another expensive (even on offer!) disappointment - it went really runny after only a little time. I love the matching mask though.

Bless You. I have been coveting that Aesop mask for ages and ages and now I think I won't bother.

My biggest high end disappointment was Chanel Bronze Universal, I paid £30 for this massive tub of orange cream. Who on earth would this colour suit? When I see it on Youtube it looks great going on but on me it is hideous.

I was also disappointed with L'oreal True Match Foundation - it makes me soooo shiny.

Willowbee - Kitten is a really beautiful colour and does look fabulous worn how you describe. I will repurchase that as a single although I do hear that due to it being so soft the singles (being bigger) do crumble. I don't care though

If you can remember will you remind us about that Liberty offer when it comes around? It sounds worth a look.

Another drive-by post! But I am so stoked, I couldn't keep my trap shut any longer :D

I've hit pan today on not one but TWO shadows in my MUAUM2 palette :j One was the matte cream shade which didn't surprise me greatly as I have been using it every day as a brow highlight and it already had a wee dip at the start of the month. But the second one was the darkest warm brown (right hand end of the top row for those who have the palette), I didn't think I had used it that much (and if I'm really honest, I think it's probably just very soft and not pressed in that well) but I can see silver nonetheless :D

I'll be back after dinner, no doubt, step skids are here and I tend to leave DH watching Gavin And Stacey with DSD; I liked it the first couple of items, could just about tolerate it the next three times but a hundred and ninety kabillion times later, I would rather poke my own eyes out with a spoolie :P

I have one of these stashed  :rotfl: I absolutely adore the regular Infallible foundation (in the glass bottle) so I thought I'd give it a try, it was £7 for 35ml and as it's in a tube I thought I would be ideal for holibobs. I'm having a cold sweat now :p

I too am struggling with SPF (which is a right bu&&er given I get a sunshine induced "moustache" every year now :() and I have yet to find an eye cream which makes any difference to my 'fine lines' that I can afford to repurchase when necessary :( I don't think I 'deserve' it yet either :D but maybe come September we will have done SO well, we'll feel vindicated in a splurge. Perhaps I can even justify my HG EL eye cream in the spend :)

I actually really like this for 'good skin days'; maybe there's a glimmer of hope for the L'Oreal Matte foundation yet?! :rotfl:

ETA: Welcome home, KT! :) I was thinking about you just the other day and wondering where you'd disappeared off to. Lovely to see you xx

I have another UU to report

    11. Tea Tree daily use cleansing foam face wash for clean healthy skin 200ml. This didn't irritate my skin or dry it out but left it soft and feeling clean (wasn't harsh btw). Its similar to the Superdrug one. I will buy again in the future as although its not a 'deep' cleanser its really good for everyday use. I can really notice a difference when I wash my face after using oil to remove my makeup.

@valm The quality is amazing. I've never heard anyone give a bad review about them. They're really soft and blend well. In another world I would love to own every single palette they make lol. Last Christmas when super drug had the 3 for 2 triple points offer, I went into the store nearly every other day for 2 weeks swatching their chocolate bar palette (dupe for Too Faced Chocolate bar palette..if you type Angela Skar in the search bar and go to her channel ... she's got a video from May 8th and she finished this palette!!) I really had to stop myself buying it as I already bought alot so thank God it went out of stock one day! I think its very good value for money (the £4 palettes especially...) ...I was watching Vixen Fabulous the other day and she said she used to work in a place where they packaged makeup and if only we really knew what went on...it would make us stick to buying the lower priced items.

Talking of buying I really had to think twice about going into town today. I've been watching a lot of videos where people use lower priced products and they're quite talented so when I saw the brand Saffron (Its cruelty free) I thought about going to purchase a bronzer and blush and thank god I had a good look in my bank account. It put me right off purchasing makeup as I need to save up for my insurance, travels etc (I put alot into my savings (not going to touch it) a few weeks ago and good job as I got that feeling back where you value money and think twice about purchasing anything). I had a good look in my inventory book and I have a whole blush pallete (8 shades in it), 2 single blushes and a cheek tint, 4 shimmer bricks and 3 bronzers from what I can remember. So I don't really need anymore otherwise I'm going to be stressed for a long time lol
