Evening DFW-Ninjas,
What the Dickens has happened to the Forum layout?
Just a quick visit tonight. Oh my, what a busy day!
The List:
:starmod: Checked how much income tax I'd paid this year. WAY too much. You can check online on the government website in just a couple of minutes whether you are likely due a refund. (Link)
:starmod: Tried calling HMRC to claim refund for third time this week on a cheap number. When I eventually got through, the automated system cut off the call because there were no advisors available. I don't recommend calling them just now.
:starmod: You can now claim an income tax refund online through the government website. (Link) Be aware that you need to go through a verification process first. Took me about 20 mins in total but it was a lot less frustrating than their flipping phone line. Apparently I should get a refund in 35 days. Believe it when I see it.
:starmod: Said "yes" to Tesco's offer of a free sample of steak through Tesco Orchard.
:starmod: Took packed lunch to work.
That's all for now. Good luck on your quests, Ninjas.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Thought I had done everything on my list but having reread it realise I forgot to read & submit meter readings and I only managed to close the curtains in time as it's light so much later. On the plus side I did manage to get 2 x 45 minutes of dealing with the filing cabinet done, still masses to do. Today I came across my annual budgets and spending diaries from my late teens to mid twenties, way before MSE existed, they made interesting reading and I was pleased to see I had control of my money, I stopped keeping records about a year after meeting OH
Has made me think that as I was previously capable of making and sticking to budgets and keeping a spending diary I need to get back into this.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Not sure how many of you use Google Chrome, but there's an extension called Lazarus. It's a form filler, but it automatically saves any text you enter, which is useful in times when the browser crashes or you click away and a post is lost!
Just saying! There is nothing more frustrating than losing a post!0
