Wednesday 29th April - What small DFW things will you do today?

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

  • Good morning all,
Bob - I hope your insurance finally gets sorted.
Hmm.. well it's a tough day for money saving for me today. I need to pay the council tax :( and go to the shop for some milk. Because I have to take the kids, going in for just milk is trickier than it sounds.
Why do they always put the kids magazines at child height right near the tills? I think we all know why
At least all meals today will be leftovers from the freezer, oh and I'll be making up a batch of my homemade lemon and baking soda cleaner.

I completly understand this :rotfl: I've now started getting them to wait outside if I'm just nipping in from milk, can still see them as only a little shop. Although it's kinder eggs and slush puppy's with mine!

Hannah 17 nail varnishes, you sound as bad as me :) although I may have a few more, all pretty much full. Had this little phase where I went nail varnish crazy but I barley use it now as its forever chipping away when I'm cleaning. I also have a stock of beauty products etc but I've been using some things differently instead of their tended purpose, only way I'll get through them :rotfl:

You could always paint your toenails :rotfl: or even use them in a craft, have seen some funky drinking glasses with marbled bottoms - check out pinterest, I am sure there must be hundreds of uses for nail polish rather than its normal use

    Morning Frugal Friends,
    My money saving efforts today:
*Wash bedding (in WM now) & hopefully line dry when rain has stopped.
*Make bread rolls & freeze for weekend when we have guests.
*Make Delia's little cheese & onion rolls for weekend family picnic. The pastry will nicely use up a half pack of Trex which has been lurking since Christmas.
*Make onion gravy to serve with mash & 49p Waitrose ys sausages tonight.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Tiny plastic tubs refilled with value raisins for work snacks.
*Transferred everything from old handbag to lovely new one I received for my birthday yesterday. Had a good clear out at the same time. Unbelievably, the new bag contained 22 sheets of good quality blue tissue paper & 5 sheets of white! All now folded & transferred to my wrappings box.
*Watered greenhouse veggies & baby plants.
    *Update grocery budget.
*Paid 2 x 50ps into my sealed pot.
*Defrosted stew to go on jacket potatoes tomorrow night.
*Update freezer list with all yesterday's reduced bargains.
*Sorted out big box of large jam jars for storage in shed. Don't want to take to bottle bank as I'll regret it when it's jam/chutney season.
*Cut open tube of hand cream to get the last bit out.
I'm making good progress with this list. Have a good audio book on in the kitchen - Camilla Lackberg....I like the dark Scandi-crime genre so I enjoy her books.
Hope everyone who was worried/down yesterday has a better day. Bob - I look forward to hearing your insurance issues are sorted. Such a shame about the subletting issue. Ok, must crack on,
