Help! Didn't set reserve price - must I sell?

New to selling on Ebay and have just realised that I did not set a reserve price for my items (5). If the bids are for a price that's unacceptable, must I sell them anyway to avoid negative feedback?

just have a look and see what they are fetching in other auctions,
that will give you an idea of how much yours will sell for!

you don't #have# to sell anything you don't want to, but you will more than likley get bad feedback if you don't sell on.

you can always remove your auctions if needs be, but personally i wouldnt worry, i start all my auctions at 99p no reserve and usually do quite well (nearly 450 feedback now!)
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

you can end item early saying goods are no longer for sale or the illegal way (and lets face it everyone is doing it!) is get your friend to bump the price up either to gain from it or to just ensure no one can claim it. Its called 'SHILL' bidding but it happens.

I disagree about 'everyone' shill bidding.

I personally would report each and every id that I suspected of shill bidding and I suspect, most other people on this board would as well. Other threads where people have suspected shill bidding have resulted in those accounts being closed by ebay.

Do not even consider shill bidding, either end your auction early now and relist with a reserve price or bank on the price going up at the last minute. Most bids are not placed right until the end anyway and as bleugh has quite rightly said something will sell for what its worth anyway.

Yes it is against ebay terms and conditions and will get your account suspended.

if there are no bids, end the auctions, if they sell, just email the winner and say you broke the item and cant sell it ;-)

if your new to ebay ditch your account and open another one.

I think the minimun reserve price is £50....please correct me if I am wrong.

Have you got any bids yet? If not just go and change the starting price to the minimun you will sell for. Even if you have watchers its OK...no hassle. If bids there, and you are worried it wont make the price, remember it might not go at your reserve anyway! ..do it the proper way and close and tell the bidders its off. As someone said earlier check the typical final price of similar items.

How long do the auctions have to run? Most bids are in the last 10 mins. As others have said check similar items then decide. Don't panic
