leaving a sold house in a state

None of our homes have been at all clean when we moved in, even our current home which was brand new!!!0

I'm prepared to scrub mine when we eventually get moved in. And I am using the time while we wait for exchange to thoroughly scrub inside and outside every cupboard, wall, etc., as I don't want someone else to have to clean up our mess. It's good to have this extra time to take stuff to the tip, chazzer, and car boot sale.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

if it was "stolen" as the other user said, then presumably the cat didn't find a new home of its own volition.0 -
I thought you were supposed to butter a cat's paws when you moved house to make it settle in?0

Buy it a pint at the local while you're at it, maybe treat it to a steak meal...
Wish someone had left me a cat, although not sure the neighbour's Rottweiler would have been an ideal playmate.
My house, after completion the vendor begged to come round to clean the place, I thought it was fine(!)
Well, I did until I came to use the oven...0 -

Only if you want greasy paw prints over everything
Better to keep it shut in for a few days, but cats are independent things and if they decide to live somewhere else, they will.
I had to laugh when I read about the butter! Good to have a giggle on this thread sometimes in among all the stress!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

When we bought our first house a few years back the seller was an "artist" and it was in a bit of a state.
After our first viewing both the missus and myself had fallen in love with it but she was a bit appalled at the mess, singling out the used earwaxy cotton bud under the (unpanelled) bath for particular disgust.
6 months later and the house was ours. En route, having picked up the keys, she wondered aloud whether the cotton bud would still be there?
It was, with a few more friends....0 -
When we moved in here it was sparkling but we still had a good clean anyway as you do...0

which i exactly why I dont like them, they are loyal only to themselves and will go off with anyone they think they can get more out of.
Unlike dogs, which truly are loyal.
I think the comparison with cats and women holds true in many cases0
