Barclaycard - CIFAS entry

in Credit cards
Hello all,
I hope someone can help, or at least give an indication.
I've recently discovered that Barclaycard have registered a CIFAS entry against me under the category of "False Employment" when applying for a credit card back in June 2012.
I have a copy of my payslip from that month, proving that I was in employment at the time of applying - although it was my last full month of working there before starting a new job, so had handed in notice. I believe this is the reason for the entry against me, however everything on the application was factually correct at the time of applying.
Now, the issue is that I have recently been successful in applying for a job within financial services, and as a result the pre-employment checks have brought up this CIFAS entry. I cannot now start with my new employer until this CIFAS entry is withdrawn.
I have followed the steps as advised by CIFAS and from members on here, so have received my SAR, and have written a formal complaint letter to Barclaycard, with a copy of my payslip, copy of the CIFAS letter and a P45 showing that my details match those on the payslip.
My query is, has anyone had to write to Barclaycard before regarding a CIFAS entry, and how long did they take to respond? Were you successful in your complaint, and are there any other supporting documents I can use to add weight to my claim?
I'm really worried that the time it takes for them to reply will mean that I cannot start this new job.
Any help/guidance would be welcome.
Many thanks
David

Send them a letter before action giving them, say, 10 days to clear their mess and saying that you'll claim all the losses you suffer from their sluggishness otherwise....are there any other supporting documents I can use to add weight to my claim?...
If you have already suffered losses, demand a compensation straight away.0 -
Good idea, thanks. I'll give that a try.0

Do you still have the card? Do you owe anything on it or is it in default.0

Was the CIFAS issued in 2012 and you just recently found the entry? or did they just recently add the entry?0

Why would they do this recently and for what possible reason? Does your CC have your up-to-date employment information?TheGenerus1 wrote: »or did they just recently add the entry0 -

The CIFAS was registered on 21 June 2012, but I have only just been made aware of it. I have had no problems securing credit since 2012 onwards, and it has not shown up on any credit reports/files - even the £2 statutory one. Is this normal?
I only became aware of it when my prospective employer (a CIFAS member) searched for CIFAS markers as part of pre-employment checks, and there is the 2012 entry which is currently preventing me from starting employment with them.0 -

Sorry, the marker was registered in 2012 but I have only just found out about it on April 14th. I have two CC 's and they both have up-to-date employment and address info.0 -

I have had CIFAS markers on my credit files many years ago, but for my own protection as I had my identity stolen, they where using my credit cards.
When ever I applied for any forms of credit, I would have to go through a series of questions and answers before the credit application could go through (annoying).
Funny thing was, there was no CIFAS markers on any of my credit reports which stated that further checks needed to be done if I made an application for credit, none whatsoever.
But some how all the credit companies that i applied for credit with, had that information.
I can't remember exactly what the CIFAS code was, but I know that it never showed on my credit reports.
It seems that if you have had no trouble in getting credit 2012 onward, then this CIFAS marker has not been applied to your credit files and has not been affecting you. Which is why I was querying when they added it to your files.
Your employer only uncovered it recently which may have prompted them to apply it to your credit files recently.0
