Honda - Parts pricing in UK!!

Comments

  • Everything is cheaper over in the states but it varies.

My brother over in Australia has the same issue with Merc parts, both new and used are ridiculously expensive so he gets me to buy them here and ship them over and it still works out 50% cheaper than him sourcing local even with the slow shipping.

Why dont you buy it from America then?

What is the issue with the camera? have you been on some Honda fosums to see if other have the same issue or have found a quick fix?

Yes, it doesn't sound a critical part so you could order in the states and get it sent here. My son buys a lot of stuff from China (mostly electronic) at a fraction of UK cost even with postage and it all arrives ok; good quality too. But I'd be tempted by the FleaBay solution for £12.

If you buy from America, don't forget to allow for import duty and VAT. The courier will also probably add a handling charge for dealing with Customs.

Be careful buying from the US, almost everything in Honda cars is CAN bus connected and programmed to certain cars in certain regions, so whist a part may look the same, even contain the same components, it may not always work.

Sometimes this is done for good reason (ie different vehicle regs in different countries), but other times it's purely for the sake of it.
