can you tell me please what is the situation with resident's parking?
...
But where can I park there? I exclude the parkings which are very expensive. Can I park in the near by streets? What if they are for residents only? Am I considered a resident? Can I park for free? Are the streets having empty spaces? Can you advise me please?
So many questions, so little time.0 -

can you tell me please what is the situation with resident's parking?
I am thinking to buy a property in Romford. But it is far from the centre which has gym, station, pub, etc. So I will have to drive from my house maximum 1 mile to get there. But where can I park there? I exclude the parkings which are very expensive. Can I park in the near by streets? What if they are for residents only? Am I considered a resident? Can I park for free? Are the streets having empty spaces? Can you advise me please?

Residents' parking allows people to park in their own streets (usually displaying a permit in their car), when other people would either not be able to, or would have to pay by the hour.can you tell me please what is the situation with resident's parking?
Every piece of road has specific rules about who can park there, when and at what cost. Often these rules vary for different times of the day and different days of the week. Have a look at the Highway Code to read the details. The rules are quite complicated and you need to observe Zonal information, Road-side plates and painted lines on the road surface. But where can I park there?
If the rules allow it at the time of day/day of week concerned. Can I park in the near by streets?
No and no.What if they are for residents only? Am I considered a resident?
However, unless the plate on the street specifies otherwise, you can park in a Resident's bay for free outside the hours of parking control for the area.
If the rules allow it. Many streets around the outskirts of towns allow free parking after 6:30pm and all day at weekends. Can I park for free?
This is the Parking webpage of the Council that covers the Romford area: http://www.havering.gov.uk/Pages/Category/Parking.aspx?l1=100011Are the streets having empty spaces? Can you advise me please?0 -

Step 1. Find the property you want to buy
Step 2. Make an appointment to view the property
Step 3. If the vendor is present ask about parking
Step 3a if the vendor is not present ensure the estate agents has this info prior to the viewing.
Step 4. When viewing the property look around the immediate area for parking restrictions
There you go thats all the info you need regarding parking.
Oh and step 5. Star selling pictures of the purple unicorn that lives in your shed to fund the purchase of your new propertyLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
can you tell me please what is the situation with resident's parking?....Can you advise me please?
Alternatively:
1. Wait until you reach retirement age
2. Apply for a bus pass
3. Hope that by then these have not been abolished, or means-tested (in which case, as a millionaire you will not qualify)
3a. Revel in the free transport, plus, as you will be in Romford, the added benefits of tube and train!0 -
in few words, is it possible to park for free anytime around Romford centre? it can be a half mile distance.0
-
I'm going to go for: yes.
Unfortunately, Havering Council have chosen not to publish a parking map. You can use Google Maps to get a rough idea (bearing in mind that it could be out of date). Use the Street View to check for side roads that do not have any yellow lines painted on the road, near the kerb.0 -

No
There is nowhere within a 1/2 mile of Romford Station that you can park for free on the street on Mon-Fri between 8am and 6pm
Residents parking permits are Zoned... Each Zone consists of a few streets
As far as I know most Gyms etc do have free private parking though0
