Can you provide a link to this insurer? I've been unable to find any evidence that they exist at all, and as things stand I feel it is far more likely that it is in fact The AA and you've just misunderstood what you've been told.

Its all in the above thread

There is nothing in the thread to say what product or product provider it is.

I think most of here believe that you are referring to an instalment plan for an AA insurance product. However, you say its not the AA. So, no-one is any wiser.

If they are not the AA who are they?

    Installments for what?

If you cancel you have to notify them, Where does that not apply? How can you cancel something without notifying the company you wish to cancel?

    Lack of info here.

It would be amusing if that was a description of Alcoholics Anonymous business practices

I just wanted to warn people that they are not the AA, and they screw you. I've done my bit, take the advice or leave it, its up to you.

The warning is useless if no-one knows who you are referring to.
  • I think OP has got some wires crossed somewhere. AA Instalments is a trading name of Automobile Association Insurance Services Limited (FCA reg number 310562), who are the AA. No paying to use the logo or anything like that.

It was probably either (a) a misunderstanding of the standard 'your monthly payments are a loan that is used to pay for the one-off annual premium' explanation, or (b) someone in the call centre has made a complete hash of explaining (a)...
