Warning AA Instalments

Just wanted to warn people about this company. They are not the AA, but use their logo. They charge you a £9 fee to setup, if you cancel your direct debit they charge £12 fee. They charge you a month in arrears and they automatically re-new you for the whole year so when you cancel you have to notify them or you get lots of fees and cancellation fees. Beware!

If they are not the AA who are they?
Installments for what?
If you cancel you have to notify them, Where does that not apply? How can you cancel something without notifying the company you wish to cancel?
Lack of info here.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Hi, they are for home insurance, when you think the insurance has finished, you in fact have one month left. So if you cancel the direct debit, you get a £12 charge, if you don't do anything they re-new for the whole year and when you cancel you are charged all kind of fees. I thought they were the AA, but they seem to be able to use their logo!0 -
you have just described most contracts that renew on an annual basis but are paid monthly under a credit agreement.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

They are the AA then. The policy was on an auto renew unless you cancel the renewal before the renewal date.
You didnt cancel so they renewed the policy. Same as with most insurers.
My home insurance is the same. But my car insurance seems to be a rare one that do not auto renew.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

So, the AA, who provide home insurance products also allow other competing businesses to use their logo?
What is the name of this mysterious company then?0 -

Do remember that simply cancelling a direct debit does not cancel any contractual obligations you have to properly cancel the service
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
