Sold item to buyer, buyer finds it £3 cheaper elsewhere and wants me to refund the difference. What would you suggest?
I am thinking about asking her to send it back for a refund however not particularly keen on getting a negative!
Hi I have received this item and have since found it is on sale on the xxx website for £xx! I'm not happy about this you're obviously ripping people off. I am requesting that you refund me the £3 difference please.

Personally I don't entertain partial refunds. I too have bought something from ebay (largely out of laziness) and it has been drop shipped by the seller from Amazon! On checking Amazon it was £5 cheaper...my fault for not shopping around in the first place - wouldn't dream of asking seller for a refund!0

Just ignore them. The time to shop around is BEFORE buying. Don't forget to add them to your BBL.0

I would offer a full refund upon return to the item in it's original condition, so that they may buy the item at the lower price they have found.0

I'd do the same.

Yes I will ask her to return it now. The ironic thing is that I offer freepost whereas the website buyer mentions charges £2.95 P&P.
I will report her but that probably won't do any good whatsoever...
I could really have done without a neg/neutral. Sigh.
This buyer also sells a lot of new items, not registered as a business but she knows what she is doing!0 -

I don't bother reporting non registered businesses anymore- but I think I would make an exception for your 'buyer'.
I'm still smarting over my (luckily) positive feedback calling me a naughty seller for selling a High Street item 'for profit', I think some buyers must be slightly mad .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Something like - I'm really sorry if my offering free postage as opposed to charging for it offended you, and I will humbly return the difference and ensure that in the future I pack with less robust materials, charge postage and delay sending it out until I am ready'0 -
Buyer has replied saying that the item has now been used so she can't return, and I should do the 'decent thing' and refund the difference.0

I wouldn't even reply.
If you must, apologise and say you are unable to negotiate on price after the sale is made.
Block them, report them and don't get into a message ding dong.0
