spam calls once abroad
I've never had a problem with spam texts or calls until I went to France recently - the first time abroad since joining EE. Almost at once I started receiving spam texts about loans that someone else apparently had asked for, then phone calls started as well. Now they never stop, even back in the UK. I can't help thinking it's not just a coincidence they started once abroad and/or since joining EE. Anyone else had this problem with spams arriving once abroad?

You can block the numbers that call you if you have a android phone, not sure if iphones have the option.0

Yes, I've been sending them to 7726 but can't seem to block them. I have an android Samsung. I've trawled through this site for other tips and have now registered with Tel Phone Preference service but if you or anyone else has any other solutions I'd be very grateful! I'm fed up with being called Ali Ousman and being offered instant loans. What concerns me is that next time I go abroad it'll all start again.0

I had the same when some idiot made an error when entering his number when seemingly looking for a payday loan through some loan broker or a comparison website. The vultures kept calling and texting me from various numbers for several months.0 -
Thanks for the advice. I've got a 'Add to reject list' on my log so I'll do that, as well as 'add to spam numbers' for the texts but of course the vultures use different numbers all the time so it looks like a never-ending problem.0

Is there a Truecall equivalent for mobiles?
https://www.truecall.co.uk/call-blocker.aspx
Nearest I've seen is the Truecaller app.

The TrueCall features will eventually be built into the phone network with options to activate and deactivate much like voicemail already is.
When it comes to blocking numbers by all means block numbers beginning with a zero, but do not block mobile shortcodes.
If you block a chargeable service from a mobile shortcode you will still be charged but will have no clue why. You'll also not be aware of which mobile shortcode number you need to send the STOP message to.0
