It might possibly make things harder but OH now wants us to move to where they currently live so they can still go to the same schools, we planned to move their anyway but now he wants to do it asap.
Problem is we have no money to move and there are no suitable houses in area anyway.
Just paid £432 off the credit card to cover spends from the other month plus the minimum payment  did have to borrow £48 from our household account to do it though so will need to pay that back asap. Need to sell some bits on eBay.
My £2k is still sitting in one of the accounts so I didn't want to dip into it, will use interest towards paying back house account.
I now have about £10 to last until I get my next lot of child benefit in 3 weeks.....luckily nothing planned and Maddie doesn't need any clothes at the moment.
No more spending on the credit card though, hidden it away with the other ones so I can't be tempted when I am out, will need to pay about £100 off next statement though so ideally need to make that too.....
I do have a sealed terramundi which I know has a couple of hundred £ in it as I put £100 in notes in it as well as £2 coins but that is my emergency emergency fund.
Our household fund is diminishing though and I am not sure how to stop that, we don't have sky or anything, we pay for our phones out of our private accounts (mine is only £7.50 per month sim only contract) but it's going to be empty in a couple of months if we are not careful.....:eek:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Is it a long way for visiting? With LO being so young now I guess school isn't going to be an issue for her for a few years yet which gives you time to prepare for it more if OH would be okay with waiting.
I know the feeling of the household fund diminishing! I've just done a new spreadsheet to get our figures right, hoping that makes it a bit easier for keeping track.
The teramundi is a great idea. I've always wanted a'sealed pot' but never got round to starting one, might start one for a bigger house fund lol0 -
They are actually only going to be about 30 mins away from us and they are 15 mins away from us now but it's completely the other direction.
At the minute my OH can take them to school then carry onto work as its on his way. He won't be able to do that when they move.
My nan's house is going on the market this week though, hopefully with no chain though it will sell quickly!
I went to Birmingham on Saturday to meet up with a group of online mummy friends I have but messed up as brought the wrong train ticket and had to buy another on the train so that was a £20 mistake
Not what I really need to be doing when I am skint!
Really need to get my !!!! into gear to eBay some bits, our house insurance is due next month as well so I need to look at that this week.
Also less than a month until I hand my notice in, am petrified about it....
Really hoping they honor my holiday pay which I will be entitled too as it will be about £600 worth.... I am legally entitled to it but I can see them being !!!!!!. :cool:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Just been looking at home insurance quotes, looking at about £110 for the next years cover and also had a sneaky peek at my car insurance renewal and that is going to be about £300 which is what I thought it would be anyway.
Have spent £30 on credit card this monthbrought Maddie some dressing up costumes.....lol and a Nando's takeaway
Really need to stop though. Easier said than done though.
I do have my savings still but am quite gutted I am now eating into them, I had £2k and now have £1886.... but that's what they were for, surviving maternity leave! Just really hoping my inheritance isn't too far off becoming mine so I can rest easy!
OH is determined to move soon though I cannot see it happening myself, it would be nice to live in a suburban area again as living in a 2 road village does suck most of the time but we can't afford to move! We'll see what happens though. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Credit card bill down to £25 as one item out of stock so got a refund from Asda for £5.
My nan's house has had a few viewings and one offer but it was too low so was declined.
Been really lapse on making any extra money this month, got a phone mystery shop I need to do before Wednesday for £25 though, I did it last year for same company. Thing is i get really nervous on the phone lol but I need the pennies so will do it! Will pay what I have spent on the credit card off at least.
I am trying to lose weight too, and Maddie doesn't nap as much in the day anymore so I have to decide between doing surveys or exercising and I am determined to get back to my pre pregnancy weight in next couple of months, I was 1lb off it but then put 7lbs back onSo I want to get back down to it.
Although I have been working out a lot and have hurt my ankle this week so going to have to rest it this week and try do something else less impact instead.
Handing in notice in 2 weeks! Then it's official and no going back.....Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Done my phone mystery shops so should be paid for that on 7th July.
Shame I only get one a year from that company as phone mystery shops are easy as can do when Maddie is asleep.
My little munchkin is 10 months old today! Cannot believe she is going to be a year soon. Wish time would slow down.
Had some photos of her taken by a professional photographer yesterday, same lady took photos of her before Christmas and I brought some so am sure I will buy some again.
Can't really afford too but will prob be last professional ones I get before pre-school! She was trying to crawl away though whilst having them done.
:rotfl:
My mother has been visiting last two weeks so not been able to do much money making but think she goes this weekend (I don't ask when she is leaving, she moans if I do, we don't get on.....) so hopefully I will get back on the band wagon next week.
I have also hurt my ankle so not been able to exercise so weight loss has gone on hold too, so next week will be a stay at home week, rest my foot as much as possible (hard to do when you need to walk!) and try earn some pennies. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
My nan's house has now sold, not bad as it's been on the market for approx 2 weeks, been brought by a 1st time buyer so should complete quickly so will hopefully get my inheritance in the next 2-3 months.
1 week until I hand my notice in.... nervous about it, not sure why, just being officially unemployed I guess. It's more panic about not being able to find another job in 2/3 years time due to having a break in employment but that's something I shouldn't worry about.
I will though cos that's the way I am!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Really great news about your Nan's house, I hope the sale goes smoothly and quickly. I remember when you posted you were expecting, doesn't seem like LO could be 10 months already!!0

Soooooo officially a SAHM now!
Will be getting about £500 in holiday pay on 25th July which will be nice and then hopefully within next few months I will get my inheritance and then I can make a budget of next few years.
Maddie won't be going to nursery until she is 3 so I have to make it last at least 2 years, I don't really want to go back to work until she is 3.5/4 though so she has time to settle into pre school and also will only be looking for a part time job when I do go back and have already decided I will be fairly fussy if I can be as to which job I do go back too.
It will need to work for me and our family. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Totally forgot until yesterday my car insurance is due next month so that's all that holiday pay gone.....oh well at least it helps!
Had mentally spent most of it in my head already though.....:oNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0
