I'm sorry things are so tense at home. I don't know what's worse silence or constant arguing. I would say silence. What do you think has changed? Is it just being cooped up or something bigger?
I'm glad you feel better and inspired with your usbourne for the new year
I hope you get things sorted soon. And I hope Maddie feels better soon xLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Thanks Kitten.
Think its the fact that we rarely get couple time, only been out twice together in nearly 18 months!
Especially as I am at home all day with Maddie whilst he gets freedom at work....
Hopefully getting things sorted on the house will make me feel a bit perkier, would still love to move but if its finally all modernised by end ot this year that would be a massive thing!
OH hates other people doing things and paying to have them done, I would happily pay someone to come do all the jobs!
On the Usborne front I have a school that is going to do a sponsored read! It should earn me a good amount of cash! Just got to make sure I do it right! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
It's so annoying - if you were out all the time he'd be annoyed you weren't spending more time with the baby, spend time with baby and they get jealous. And they don't realise it's hard on you too.
Could you do more with your evenings when she goes to bed? Do a night out as a night in?
I get so used to him not being here that when he is I don't always know what to do and he gets annoyed but the flip side is if I wasn't so devoted to the kids and used to being alone I would just be nagging him to be with me all the time and hating his job. They want it both ways and you just can't win.
I would talk to him about it. Just be really honest no matter how !!!!!! it gets keep going til you get to the truth.
Well if he wants to do it himself then what's stopping him? Do the bits he can't do - new front door etcxxx

lilmissmup wrote: »So with the inheritance there are sooooo many things we need for the house it could probably go in a month!
Things we do need for the house
New front door (ours has parcel tape on the back.....) ON ORDER
New sealed units for a couple of our windows Just replacing 1 at the moment
New mattress (god knows how old our one is) DONE
Get central heating valve fixed (can only get hot water from immersion) DONE
Need to get boiler serviced
Things we would like for the house
New frost free freezer
New carpets (these are a need really but not a priority need)
New wooden flooring for living room (these is also a need really but not a priority need)
My car is also going to cost me about £1000 this year, cambelt service is due which is around £500, insurance is around £300, tax £30ish and then probably new tyres at some point..... I got a puncture Christmas day but Dad paid for that for me.....
So with all of the above thats at least £3/4k just gone like that!
We do want to sell our house too, in an ideal world I would have the house ready to sell in 2017 in time for Maddie starting preschool Sept 2017 but with a toddler and OH working full time plus seeing his kids too plus general life it's probably not going to be until 2018/2019!
An update on the house list.
New mattress been in house for 2 weeks now, front door ordered and new unit for kitchen window too, my friend who is a plumber came round today to fix our heating/water issue. In total that is £1163 out of my inheritance gone.... £150 on plumbing *he said to only pay for part but feel mean so will give him £50 too* and £690 on door/window plus £323 for Mattress.
Should get the boiler serviced still though, that was last done about 4 years ago when it broke..... i think anyway!
Although I haven't actually had my inheritance yet.....
It's all sat there ready to go but still waiting on my cheque, apparantly the accountant has been out of the office.
So until we get it no holiday can be booked and I wanted to go away at Easter!
Still need to get Maddie a passport too....
Just taxed my car as well, £30 for the year so not too badNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Looking at sideboards on eBay *do need one, got tatty bookcases in our living room atm*
And now our heating/water is up the swanny again so looking like more cost there god job it's my mate doing it (don't think he has done anything wrong, just another hidden problem has occured now he fixed one!) ..... might be an expensive day!
Have got someone collecting some lego I sold on eBay though later. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I lost out on the sideboard I wanted, it went for £185 which after researching new ones was still a bargain!
I fall in love with furniture quickly ha ha but in the reality of it with DD she will scribble on it so I am best off buying second hand, think we will be going out to the second hand furniture village this weekend!
Mind you my inheritance still hasn't come through!
Little bit worried it never will as it was all wrapped up in December but still no sign. I have to pay my credit card off before March plus the mattress, bedding and getting the door fitted on 13th Feb!
I am getting rolling on Usborne again, 5 stalls at events booked in, 1 party, 1 sponsored school read and hopefully potential for another one (maybe two!).
My mentor came to see me the other day so nice to have met her and I went to a mums networking meeting the other day too so that should hopefully bring me a bit of business as well. I am showcasing my books there in March.
So looking at getting myself registered for being self employed!
I was hoping to go on holiday at Easter but that is not looking so likely now as no cash, Dad said I could borrow some more money but I don't want to borrow for a holiday.
It will be Simon's 40th though Easter weekend so prehaps we could go up to Scotland or something as a treat at least even if it's just us 3 and maybe take step kids away in June half term. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Spent £72 on a book case/table for Maddie yesterday!
It's adorable though....

It will be nice for her to be able go pick books without pulling them down on herself (which sometimes happens.....)
Hurry up inheritance!!!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I might have another school signed up for Usborne book read though so it's ok.....Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

Managed to get a sideboard on FB for £40, needs sanding down and varnishing but otherwise not in bad nick and it's solid pine and pretty much exactly the same as the one I was about to pay £154 for.
In a couple of years when Maddie is older I might treat myself to a new one but if she scribbles on this one I won't have a meltdown!
No news on the other Usborne sponsered read yet but quite a few events booked in and a party booked for next week plus the one definite read.
Emailed another toddler group to see if I can go along to them, they did ask me to email them after FB contact but not had a reply yet, hoping I will get a reply.
Sometimes I am too impatient, a lady said I could message her about joining Usborne too but she hasn't replied to me yet, I like people to tell me no rather than ignoring me!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
It sounds like it's going well with the Usborne though, very promising!
I think side boards looklovely, and what a great price to get one at!0
