Sky Talk Changes

Hi this is my first post so apologies if it's in the wrong place or someone has already mentioned this before (I've used the search function to check though!)
I got an email to a survey from Sky asking me what I thought about their upcoming price changes for Sky Talk.
It said that line rental is going up £1 a month, to £17 odd. That's to be expected, but I was surprised to hear they are getting rid of Sky Talk Weekends! Instead they are automatically putting customers onto the new equivalent package and it will cost £4 a month extra onto of the new line rental charges.
So Sky Talk Weekends is now going to cost £21 a month!
Or you can pay £17 for the new pay as you go package and you lose out on your weekend calls!
I only have a phone line for broadband access, but this reduce in services for the same amount of money is leaving me very sour!

Most of the providers are jacking up basic rental price and removing things like free weekend/evening calls -trying to drive everyone over to Anytime call packages. Fortunately I have a legacy package with my provider which includes free E/W calls AND allows me to use indirect access suppliers for daytime calls -when/if that goes, its going to make a mobile tariff much more attractive so I suspect a LOT of people will drop back to line rental only deals, probably with "low price" bundled broadband.0

If you don't use the bundled calls, how are you losing out?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I've only just noticed this, as I decided to look something up on the website.
'Free' weekend calls gone, from originally being included with the line rental, weekend and evening introduced but at £4 and Anytime (£5) gone to be replaced by a reintroduced Anytime Extra (including calls to mobiles and cheap rates internationally), but costing £8 and a further package including international calls, costing £12. No mention, yet ,of the line increase.
The 'chat' box came up while I was browsing, so I queried the demise of basic Anytime and was told that current customers can retain the package, but I didn't ask the price.0
