Look in your area for office auctions or office clearances - as others have said, office furniture will be more sturdy and 1800mm, probably well treated too.0

I got a sitstand desk, allows me to work standing up which makes youa bit more productive and less inclined to waste time on social media.
It's also healthier than sitting on your butt all day. The sit stand desks are rock solid and the worktops are solid too. I got mine second hand for £80.
sitstand desks being what they are are incredibly strong - in fact some might say too strong for domestic use. But I like mine.
I'll be changing the worktop and putting solid oak oak on top DIY of course.0
