can anyone recommend a mascara?

I love the Maybelline mascaras, they have various different brushes, at the moment I have Lash Sensational with a silicone brush and the Colossal with a traditional full brush on the go. They always go on without clumping and never flake.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Maybelline Illegal Lengths - I've recommended it before. I'm using the waterproof version at the moment. I don't like the superfat brushes cos I get it all over and the skinny ones don't get enough on.0

I second Maybelline illegal lengths you need at least 3 layers to achive volume as well as length, also if you want length but not smudgeproof Loreal telescopic is outstanding and if you want huge volume and don't mind a doll like look, Miss Manga also by loreal is amazing, the waterproof one doesn't shift until removed with oil. I used to layer telescopic with Miss manga for lasting full results.
I taught myself how to apply lash extensions which last 2/3 weeks and are super easy, effective and cheap, may be worth considering, no more mascara!0 -
I switched to Younique's a couple of months back and LOVE it, I recommend it if you want to go for the false lash look

Before that I would of recommended Fabulash by Miss Sporty (good value mascara) but that just annoys my lashes now.0 -
I also love the Lancome Cils Booster XL, which is a base/primer. You can get away with any old rubbish mascara if you use that first. I'm not using it at the moment as the Benefit Rollerlash doesn't seem to need it, but for ordinary mascara the Cils Booster works wonders. Pricey but it lasts ages.0

The above comments reminded me that Clarins make a top coat for mascara that makes it waterproof, this would work well with the telescopic I recommended

Thanks for all the responses.
My lashes used to be very short and sparse and no mascara ever made my lashes look anything other than darker.
However for quite a few months now I have been using Revitalash and now have some decent length eyelashes. Still sparse, but that can be rectified with mascara.
I just wish you could by trial sizes. I've tried quite a few mascaras and have rarely been happy. It's a costly business beauty isn't it. The amount of make up I have bought and binned.0 -
I can't help on sparse lashes; mine are average but just really short and they grow without a curl. I find the Lancôme Hypnose and Clinique dramatic lengths really good and also one by the Body Shop which is called something like define and ..... and is a comb brush which normally I don't get on with but for some reason that brush is fine.
I'm sorry that none of that really helps your problem, but I thought I'd just mention the mascaras which worked for me after explaining my problem and so why the mascara works for me because you may find if you're issue is not lack of length or lack of curl that you might not find the mascara as good.0 -
I use Estee Lauder Sumptous bold and have done for years and I always buy the 'free gift' sizes from fleabay. £6.99 for 2 usually.0

I've seen this on social media.
Is it water/smudge proof?0
