Problem with Vista and internet

my vodafone branded would not work with Windows Vista so i went back to my old d link router which worked perfectly
Presumably to support the point you're making you tried the vodaphone branded one with XP and it worked perfectly? I think it more likely the settings weren't correct. We're only talking about TCP/IP which is an international standard that doesn't change with OS. So Conor is quite correct that network routers are OS independant. If you're trying to install software that came with the router on your pc there may be OS compatiblity issues but that's nothing to do with the router hardware and you can set them up without any software."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Another less than technical response! Are you talking about Ethernet or wireless?
Absolutely no variables can be eliminated in that statement at all. Doesn't really prove anything one way or another."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

the router worked pefectly with windows XP but vista didn't recognise the router because of the preconfigured settings0 -

Still no detail. What do you mean vista didn't "recognise" the router? An ethernet connected pc doesn't recognise the router, it simply gets an IP address and transfers data to the IP address of the gateway it's told. There's nothing that get's installed in order to be compatible with the OS. Could you not see the router with a browser?"She is quite the oddball. As Vista is such a new OS, I would suggest going to the manufacturers website to get updated info about config, etc.0
