Argos store card

Anyone know the answer to this?

Credit available is £500, looking to buy an item at £700, if I pay £500 on the store card and £200 cash, will I still get the 9months buy now pay later offer?

    I expect Argos will know:

"if you have any questions call: 0845 640 0701"

Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be :D

Could you not see if you are eligible for an increase on your credit limit?

I wonder if you could maybe put the £200 onto the card in advance? So that you have £700 available. Maybe then you would get the buy now pay later on the £500 it would take you into the minus?#I don't know though if this is possible, but worth a try.

Are you making the purchase online or in store?

If it's in store I'd have thought it feasible to make a part payment of £200 cash towards the purchase total and then make use of the Buy Now, Pay Later scheme.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

    Hi there!

I applied for an Argos Card on Saturday and got approved, but their website crashed right at the end so even though they charged me for what I was going to buy with the card, they told me they refunded me and now I have to wait for the card to arrive in the post before I can use it...which I find ridiculous.

I've searched high and low and I couldn't find any information anywhere regarding how long it actually takes to receive it (7 to 10 working days sounds stupid for a piece of plastic mailed from Milton Keynes to London...I mean I could go pick it up myself and it would take me about an hour round trip). I also couldn't find any information regarding what service they use to deliver the card...Royal Mail or other courier services and also if it just comes in an envelope or if it's like a box.
I'm asking about that because if it's an envelope it will just go in the mailbox. If it's a box, I live in a gated complex so it will go to the concierge and he isn't the quickest in letting us know when we have new mail waiting.

So can anyone please let me know first of all how much it actually takes to receive it after getting the "your card's on its way to you" e-mail?

    Thanks

When it comes to Argos store cards, no in store employee can help you with the store card. Argos store employees are only allowed to sell you the card and to use it as a payment method. They will however be happy to let you call Argos Card Services from Customer Services.

Usually credit limit increases for Argos Cards happen six months after the card has been taken out (providing the card is used a few different times in stores and is paid on schedule). You could telephone the number on your Argos card and ask for an increase. It would be unlikely you would receive an increase. But you might if you called with details of your income and have a good credit file (i.e. you pay your bills on time) and explain why you would like a £200 credit increase.

You might be able to do a part payment using an alternative method for the last £200 and still be eligible for 9 months buy now pay later. But, this would be up to the discretion of Argos Cards. Best to check with Argos Cards if they will allow you to do this. I would be suprised if they don't allow you to have 9 months buy now pay later. But really it is best to contact Argos Cards first.

In regards to trying to pay £200 onto your Argos card to increase your limit to £700 that won't work. Argos cards shouldn't accept any payment unless it is to pay existing debt on the card.

It will take 7-10 working days to deliver your card. When you get it make sure you sign the back (they have no chip or pin) and telephone the number on the front to activate the card.

From the sounds of it the website was a little buggy so I suggest you telephone Argos Store Cards and just check that everything is as it should be.
