Hi
Somehow, I've managed to sign myself up to a free trial of Prime. Not sure how, I've avoided this right up until tonight. They must have sneaked in a new sign up for a free trial button somewhere
Anyway, having been told that I can't cancel, I'm wondering if it's similar to netflix in that I can share this with family? Might as well make use of it
Thanks

Who said you can't cancel?
This should tell you how to:

Hope this helps0 -
I had an online chat straight away but the guy told me that if I canceled I wouldnt be able to have another free trial for 12 months. In that case, I might as well keep the trial going, I thought.
In the link you provided, it says I can share with people in the same house but can I share with family in different places?0 -
Sorry, I don't know that much about Amazon Prime, as I took it for the trial and then cancelled it.
My broadband is so slow I've never looked at it for downloading/streaming movies.
Afraid I can't really help after all, I'm sure someone will be along later who can.0 -
Ooooh! That means you have access to the new OUTLANDER mini-series, which is the TV re-make of the Diana Gabaldon "Jamie and Claire" books...
I'm so jealous, but still not prepared to pay the outrageous Prime fees to be able to watch it!0 -

We get the series on RTE2 the Irish Channel, through Virgin as I am in Northern Ireland.:beer:0 -

In theory no it's for the use of one persons address only (I asked about this if others could register for it as I share my prime delivery acc with dad and brother so they can use my prime delivery service via their accounts, but prime streaming is for the main holds only).
That said in a preactical point of view I accidentallynever signed out my parents TV or canceled the authorisation for that TV to work with my prime log on when I moved out and works fine on their TV and mine. (And mine and dads iPads)
What I will say is you use the Amazon account name and password to log into the service, therefore if they purchase a download rather than just use the free streaming, it will be your payment card that will be charged not theirs.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
It's free for a month. If you fail to cancel before then, you will be charged for the full one year subscription. So you can cancel as long as you are still within the trial period. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Yes, you can share it with other people at the address, but it might be for deliveries only:
1: Go to Manage Prime Membership.
2: Click Invite a household member.
3: You can then do the following: Share your membership by entering the name, relationship, birthday, and e-mail address of the person you'd like to share the membership with, along with your birthday.0 -

yeah you can share / invite other users for prime but this is deliveries only, the other prime membership items (the streaming service, kindle library service etc) are for the main holder only, however as i advised in my previous post there are ways around allowing others access to the streaming service by logging them in with your details.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
