No middle name!

I have noticed what seems to be a new trend, where no middle name is provided, banks are addressing me with 2 first names, so:
instead of First Last, my name appears as First First Last.
I thought it was an anomaly with 1 bank (Lloyds), but I notice Barclays are doing the same. Older statements from Lloyds prove it wasn't like this before.
Is it just me? Or is this a new rule? I know with airplane tickets for example they'll add MR/MS/MRS at the end of the first name...

Ah, the joys of inflexible computer programming.0

First First Last is 1 middle name not two? I'm confused.0

Doesn't happen with my statements from Lloyds.
I have a problem with my Mastercard provider and a linked department store, the systems have a mandatory field for 'street name'. As there is no street name where I live, never mind a street, I failed in my attempts to leave that field blank. Now I get correspondence to me with 'there is no street name' printed on it. Cheers me up everytime I see it.0 -
I remember seeing details that said Mr J J S Smith, where people had answered the request for initials by putting in the J S wich were entered as middle name initials.
Also came across parents - who had daughters with no middle names, and the first name all began with the same letter!! How they knew whose post was whose is anybody's guess!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

When I was married and kids were growing up, although we had different names / initials, there seemed to be some sort of colour coding scheme in place, whereby the brown envelopes were for my attention and the remainder were split between the rest of the family.0 -

Yes, my first name (Elouise) is being repeated as if it were my middle name. If I had a middle name, Elouise Middlename Lastname would be correct. I don't have a middle name, it should just be Elouise Lastname. Elouise Elouise Lastname makes no sense and is not legally my name.
With Lloyds, I can trace this to have begun last year when I got a Mastercard creditcard. It has now changed it on every account.
With Barclays, when I first opened the account online last year it showed correctly, on a recent letter they've decided to add a second Elouise.0 -
Just change your name by deed poll. Problem solved.0

This is pretty much why: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2010/06/17/falsehoods-programmers-believe-about-names/I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T0

Funny replies are funny but I'm curious if other Lloyds or Barclays customers have the same thing.0
