I've sorted a change of name deed after my divorce (changing to a new last name completely not going back to my maiden name) and just took it to my bank. My bank told me since its not a government certificate they can't accept it and to bring back the government certificate. However speaking to my solicitors they say I…

there is the certificate that comes from the Enrolled Deed Poll system but thats a seperate thing to the Change of Name Deed and isnt actually necessary.

I will be climbing the customer services phone tree with the banks but I'm going to start by doing NI, Driving License etc and go from there. Thanks guys!
