Not sure if anyone's been following this story but having listened to & read a few news stories on it a few things stick out to me that just seem to have been passed over..
1. She was out with (hospital) work colleagues, one of whom testified that she all of a sudden went pale etc. and it got to the stage where he believed she didn't recognise him.... Now these people were all Health Care workers, mostly Doctors of some form.... but they thought it would be grand to pack her in a taxi by herself and send her off home and it was the actual Taxi Driver who took her to the police station when he thought something wasn't right..
2. Drugging aside, she has admitted to having 6 glasses of wine, 1 beer and a shot of Tequila on the night out..... what has only come to light I believe recently is it has also been noted she was scheduled to work the next day.
The woman's an anaesthetist !!!!!!...... Now I don't know her exact role at the hospital but I certainly wouldn't like to think some pregnant woman would be relying on her administering an epidural the next day after that skin full...

I bet she wont.
They did find traces of GHB in her hair.
She'll be back in 12 months max.0 -
I do think it would be a bit harsh if she was struck off.... everyone makes mistakes but the whole thing does seem a bit fishy!!0

Of course she'll be struck off. She's been convicted of a crime of violence. After being out for whatever number of years she gets banned for, she will be able to apply again.
And yes her career is over. With a criminal record she will never work in canada, australasia or the Middle East even after reinstatement if she tries to get away from the uk.
Another local doctor, albeit one of seventy three is awaiting sentencing after a tax fraud conviction. Lucky he's not thirty three.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

Don't get me started on that one........ I'm of the opinion his kids should be on trial too for aiding and abetting as he was putting the money in accounts in their names for them in order to avoid the tax...... I'm sure they knew fine well what he was up to !!0 -

I'd say I'd notice if my retired dad passed a couple of hundred big ones into my account. The only question is, will he get away with a suspended sentence or will they send a 73 year old to prison? What an end to a high flying (and high earning) career. The shame.

73 & Upper Class...... He'll get a slap on the wrist as he's paid the money back which he owed now I believe...0 -

She didn't 'make a mistake'. Regardless of the dubious 'drugs' claim, she did make the conscious decision to drink more than she should have, especially when she knew she was working the next day.0 -

£450,000 is a fair bit. I'd expect them to take a dim view of it.
Interesting though - he'd have netted over half a million if he'd filled in his forms. So how much money is enough? "More."“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0
