Car checked under warranty broken down outside of warranty
Hi All,
My OH recently bought a car under one of those 3 months warranty for 2nd hand cars. Before the end of the warranty some warning lights came on so she went and had it checked. They found nothing. The warning lights came on with me in the vehicle so I checked it over and found the water pump to be leaking however the warranty has now expired do you think I have a leg to stand on against the warranty company? I know they are not the most pleasant people to put it mildly.
Cheers for any advice.

Yes, I think you have a good case, have you got the paperwork from when the fault originally developed inside the warranty period but was misdiagnosed?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Its with the Auto protect. I just phoned them and of course they fobbed me off. I think I will complain to the managing director.0

The warning lights are unlikely to be linked to the leaking waterpump. Unless it was a temperature light for overheating.
How old is the car and price paid?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Yeah, you get a load of hoodies to torch his garage if he won't fix it.0 -

The car is 2002 for £1500 and the warning light was heat related due to air bubbles in the cooling system for the air temp is much higher as it passes the sensor.0 -
I'd imagine there will be so many possible get outs on a warranty for a 13 year old car that you wasted your money paying for it in the first place. At that age a car is really a throw away item.0

What were the fault codes? It wont detect air going through the cooling system.
Its 13 years old, fit a new waterpump and get it properly serviced whilst its in the garage.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Yeah I figured that would be the case. We didn't actually pay for it the garage just threw it in as a good will gesture.0
