I'll bite... How is the halal certification "conning a Christian"? Do we burst into flames if we consume a piece of meat which has been subjected to a ritual by another religion?0

I suspect the point is that the meat, once on the shelf, is NOT labelled Halal. That is conning the consumer in general rather than just Christians. I avoid Halal meat and I'm an atheist so I guess atheists are being conned as well as Christians."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

Putting aside the fact this is a parking ticket forum for the moment .......
If the religious ritual was simply saying a few prayers over the carcass most objectors probably wouldn't have strong views either way.
It's the method of slaughter most objectors are concerned about and the right to be given transparent information so they are able to choose not to buy meat from an animal that was killed in a manner they find abhorrent.
So as Hot Bring has said it's the failure to label the meat as Halal that is the con.
Not only do Aldi not label Halal meat as Halal on the shelves they have also stated numerous times on their facebook page that their meat is not Halal certified when consumers have challenged them having seen the stamps on the boxes.

yes it was the fact that they conned people . the inner packages were not marked as halal , and they stated that they had been "miss boxed" at the factory.
the one thing that people were annoyed about , was that turkey is normal eat at Christmas , which is the day "of our lord"0
