I dont know enough about the law to state anything as factual, but I know where I work my boss insists the prices are corrected on products if for example a price tag of £3445 loses the "5" at the end making the value appear to be £344, the reason he states is because a customer could claim the price is misleading and thus could claim it at the price displayed. If that is wrong, I apoligise, but NOWHERE do I state "These are facts".

As quoted on MSE T&C (Top of the page - you cant miss it!) arrow.gifRemember, this is an open forum! Anyone can post so always exercise caution when acting on info.

I know you're trying to be helpful, but it doesn't help to post an absolute assertion of the law that is 100% incorrect. You may not have intended to state that 'these are the facts', but you basically did:

If there is a price tag on an item in a shop, the store is legally bound to sell it at the quoted price, no matter what the computer says.

I'm a Barrister by trade, and can confirm that this is absolutely incorrect. It's not even a matter of dispute. The case law is well-settled. As I said, it's 1st year law student stuff.

No, instead you state 'This is the law'!!!

Nowhere do I state "This is the law", I even quoted that I dont know enough about the law, yet anyone who is stupid enough to go to a store on what they hear from a forum from anyones advise, YOURS included, without checking the information out further is a fool. So for you i will repeat the T&C of MSE, as I think you have somehow omitted to notice it

arrow.gifRemember, this is an open forum! Anyone can post so always exercise caution when acting on info.

That basically means, dont take words on a forum as factual, law or a reason. in case you have difficulty in grasping its meaning. My post is neither based on FACTS as you quote, or on LAW as you qoute, wether or not my post is correct, if it is incorrect, I have apoligised.

Lesson for today according to Marleyboy - write what you like on MSE, nobody should follow it anyway. If you do follow any information on MSE, you are 'a fool'. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good to see that MSE serves a purpose!

Why when people are wrong can they not just apologise and move on, they always play the "Open Forum" or "be courteous at all times" cards. Stupid.

Marleyboy, you got it wrong, EVERYBODY does sometimes, all you need to say is oops sorry rather than attempting to imply everyone is a fool but yourself!

Marley boy should stop the"war" and get into a "mellow mood" and realise that he "mix up,mix up" and "give thanks and praises" because it "hurts to be alone"

Page1 on this forum, I have said and i quote, in case you missed it "If I am wrong, then I apoligise". which means that if I have made a mistake, then I am sorry. I guess I am a fool, in respect to calling everyone else a fool, I said "anyone who accepts a forum site as fact, is a fool". Or should we all just trust what everyone on a forum has to say?
