Lands End t's used to be good for being good quality and opaque, and they've had sales on recently.

Otherwise something like the Pure Clothing ones, which are designed to be 'modest' might fit the bill.

I know what you mean though, as I hate the see-thru t-shirts as well.

Second vote for Lands End and they have some white tops in the current sale. Also Orvis.

Reminds me of school days when we all had to wear white blouses. You could always see our bra straps through our shirts. Hopefully girls these days don't have the same problem that we did!
  • Have you tried a cami top underneath?
I looked in Viyella / CC last week and they had T shirt in white for about 25 pounds i think. No idea if it was see through, but i did buy one like it in navy and that seems fairly thick.
I have given up completely on trying to find non see through white tops and blouses so this thread is great.

  • Jc penny's, khols, target, tj maxx.. Those stores are my go to. You don't have to spend big bucks to get what you are looking for. Sometimes people will wear a cami but if you're trying to avoid that then try those stores.

Might be a bit expensive as the OP would have to add on a transatlantic airfare !! She's spending pounds not dollars ;)

US stores in general do do more of the thicker t-shirts than we see here. I really like Kohls and Target for basics when visiting the US.
