EE calling abroad add-on

Has anyone opted in to EE's calling abroad add-on?

It's meant to be free, and it reduces the price of calling abroad. Seems a bit too good to be true so I just wanted to check there wasn't a catch before option in.

Am aware that there are probably plenty of cheaper ways of doing this but I have family abroad and it would be good to know that I won't be charged at the highest possible rate when I want the convenience of calling from my mobile.

Would be cheaper and will be billed to you on your EE bill if you used these people or similar.

Thanks! I might look into this, especially since I tried opting in to this EE thing and it just gave me an error...
