I am looking for a weekend bank in Basildon to open an account in euro, can you suggest me a good one? I saw the Metro is opened even Sundays, is it good and reliable bank?

I used to be with Metro bank, they are good and it does what it says on the tin sort of bank.
Very nice branches and staff, you get through very quickly if you ring them.
I left the bank because I moved away from my local bank and often have to put money in.0 -
Do you really want a Euro account with Metro Bank? €15/month or €5/month + a €2k balance seems quite pricey to me.
I've had a standard current account with them for 5 years or so. It works well in general, although I had an incident with them a few years back where they lost an incoming transfer and took over a week to find it, and only then with a lot of pressure from me (I was abroad at the time which didn't make it easy). Opening the account was easy, but the late/7 day opening doesn't mean a lot as I never visit the branches.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Not that I know of.
Will you be making cash or cheque deposits in Euros? If not you could look at accounts outside the UK. I have one with Britline in France which charges €0.60 per month for a basic cheque book account with no card.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

search the forum for euro. There's plenty of debate about euro accounts for UK residents. Although I have never seen anything about a 'weekend bank' before so these discussions may or may not be of help.0

I would suggest you go in Branch and see them. They are very helpful and knowledgable in the Basildon Branch.

You might want to consider as an alternative, a Euro denominated travel money card such as Caxton FX0

thanks, but my purpose is to store an amount of euro in UK, not travel abroad or something0
-
You can do that with the card0
