Bt Infinity/FTTC

I have tried but to no avail to get this sorted via BT customer services/ sales . My situation is as follows , I live in a development of 26 properties that were built as an extension to an existing street. The existing street (as well as others) is served by cabinet 108 (Rochdale exchange), this cabinet is FTTC enabled . A new small green cabinet was installed when the new properties were built, this is cabinet 36, this has no FTTC.
I currently have a fault on my line which is being worked on by Openreach. The 2 engineers who have been out over the past week have both told me that I can have FTTC as my cabinet is 108 (one of them even showed me this on his worksheet for the job on my property), they both told me that cabinet 36 is just a distribution point and is not really a ‘cabinet’ at all.
Every time I have tried to explain this to BT they tell me that as my ‘cabinet’ ( 36 ) is not FTTC enabled that I can’t have it. When I try to explain the points I’ve mentioned in this message to them all I get is ‘computer says no’.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Could anyone point me in the right direction for getting this sorted out ?

How long ago was the green box fitted? Maybe recently and not active yet?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Have you checked your phone number and postcode on openreach website?
Your area may be fibre enabled but if it shows as high demand on openreach website it would mean there are just no fibre connections left on the cabinet and so you wouldn't be able to order it with any provider.0 -
Slightly off topic, but how do you determine which cabinet you are on - just asking the BT OR guy, or is there some way to determine it online?0
