Amazing, we could have a whole new line of industry in the UK!

Something else for UK PLC to be proud of! :)

I know - should have included a smiley at the end - I was only bouncing off your insightful comment not attacking it. Sorry if it came on a bit strong. :)
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Perhaps I have suffered under a terrible misapprehension for all these years? I thought that the definition of an industry was a process or system that produced items or service of value.

Not always, what about Payday loan companies, sell your gold for a pittance rogues, Brighthouse, PPI and whiplash lawyers, cold callers and before them, clampers. PPCs are one of many conmen which inadequate legislation have failed to regulate.

Absolutely. One is tempted to resort to biological analogies again.

Organisms that share an environment and each supply something of benefit to the other are said to have a symbiotic relationship and that applies to most of the things we enjoy in western society whether that be our supermarkets, hotels, roadside fruit sellers etc etc. However, something that simply takes from the society within which it operates is called a parasite.

The precedent would be set for cases that were the same as Beavis, how many car parks are rented by a PPC.

Maybe, maybe not. We won't know how narrow or wide reaching the ratio is until we have had sight of the judgment.

If I have a sign saying Please Close the Gate and another saying No Junk Mail, will I be able to charge Royal Mail and the Election Canvassers when they drop their rubbish through my letter box and leave the gate ajar?

You would first need to set up a Private Gatekeeping Company whose only source of income stems from penalising gate-leavers-open.

With regards to the points under appeal at the CoA it is totally irrelevant IMHO whether or not a PPC pays to operate by way of a fee , commission kickback or even own the car park .

I agree and stated this back months ago. However, at the case itself the judges took the case outside just the points of law under appeal and discussed broader policy concerns.

In all honesty I think it most likely that if the judges rule in PE's favour it will be in a manner which legitimises their charges at all the car parks they operate at, not simply ones where they pay a fee/commission kickback or otherwise.

My point was, however, that this is all just speculation and you cannot say the ruling will or won't apply to any particular scenario until you have had sight of the reasoning behind the same.
