E5756 internet dongle....

I have a E5756 from 3 on a 15gb a month tariff

Contract comes to a end in June and seeing as I don't use anywhere near the allowance I used a unlock code to allow me to use another sim very soon.

The most I've used per month over the last 2 years in about 4gb a month, now I'm getting text messages that I've used all my allowance and I have charges in the region of 50 pounds extra !!!!!!

What could have happened here ?....has my unlocking done something weird to the dongle ? I've turned it off to prevent any further charges......but I think 3 have blocked me a I've reached the credit limit on the account

    If you are near the coast its possible its connected to a NON UK network, but thats not probably related to the unlocking. If you have used it outside the UK it could have joined a non "three at home" network partner too and run up a bill. It could also be you (or any one who you have given the SSID Key to use the device to ) have simply gone well over your allowance for some reason.

    Unlocking lets you use other SIMS, but if still you have the Three Sim in the device it will always use Three over any other network and should not allow romaing to another network in the UK.

    You need to get Three to tell you what the charges are for (could be roaming or could be going over allowance) before its possible to try and guess further.

    Thanks for your reply.....I live within the London M25 so don't think it could be that.

    I took the dongle on holiday last year to Turkey and it didn't work out there so I assume roaming isn't active on the account. I was on the Isle of Wight last week and used it to access spotify but this was only for a maximum of 2 hours.

    Gonna be brave and try and ask 3 what's going on

    Could be it connected to French Network, but that's a Three Feel at home country, although if you exceeded your limits that may apply..
