Go Bob! Awesome news :T I'm still battling through court with a company that seriously injured me and DS1 when he was a baby. I wouldn't have taken it so far if they'd just apologised, maybe showed a little concern for my baby, but nope. Big companies think they can walk all over you sometimes.
Dawn, how do I join you non-spenders 2015? Can I buy anything if I need it or is it good ol' fashioned make do and mend? I'm quite old fashioned when it comes to my debt plan - so I'm joining in with anything thrifty. I don't tend to do all the credit card juggling or stoozing etc. I'm more of a 'save all my coppers, cut my own hair and grow my own veg' kind of gal.

Polly, it is from a thread on the OS board, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5125747
It is about anti consumerism plus the make do and mend aspect. Yes, you can buy what you need, of course, but makes you think more about what you DO need.

Sorry to hear about the accident involving you and your baby :( Hope it all gets sorted soon.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Oh no FVD so sorry. So in summary the house you wanted to buy is no longer for sale because they can't move on. Is it worth trying to find another before putting your buyers off completely? Or are they in a chain too?

Jo Jo - what a story! I've never heard of an insurer going bust. I feel for your employers. I have been in limbo for months myself. When the business was closed and still not being sorted for months I had to seriously consider my position. But having paid out a huge sum to start up I felt I couldn't walk away from that. But it was touch and go really.
On the tips front, the funny thing is I now tip much better myself as I see the other side of the picture. We were at a pizza hut for a family meal a few weeks back, somewhere I haven't been in years. The server was lovely. Made the effort with the kids etc. I saw him being treated very rudely by one table & there was nothing he could do to please them. So I left a £5er tip. I saw his face when he picked it up. That would make my day right now so hopefully it helped his.
