Bob, to be honest with smoothies, I'm just sticking in whatever I have to hand and hoping for the best!!!! lol I saw a thread before for free kindle books and there were a few free smoothie recipe books available for some inspiration! I basis of mine is usually milk, whey protein, hand full of spinach with either a banana or frozen summer berries, kiwis etc (sorry not much help I know!! )

Great news on the insurance claim Bob. Hopefully it will make a big difference to you and your business :)
  • Go Bob! Awesome news :T I'm still battling through court with a company that seriously injured me and DS1 when he was a baby. I wouldn't have taken it so far if they'd just apologised, maybe showed a little concern for my baby, but nope. Big companies think they can walk all over you sometimes.
Dawn, how do I join you non-spenders 2015? Can I buy anything if I need it or is it good ol' fashioned make do and mend? I'm quite old fashioned when it comes to my debt plan - so I'm joining in with anything thrifty. I don't tend to do all the credit card juggling or stoozing etc. I'm more of a 'save all my coppers, cut my own hair and grow my own veg' kind of gal.

BB - Shredding is the bane of my life. My shredder is so random. Cuts out after about 5 mins...so I always have it to do. Try and do some each day to keep from overheating it but...zzzzz

You can sharpen your shredder by feeding it a piece of tin foil to shred...

I've managed everything I planned today with the exception of the shredding. As I decided playing in the garden with the children was more beneficial. I will need to make shredding tomorrow's priority. ally thanks for the foil tip.

Today was day 2 of operation sort out the filing cabinets and as well as managing to getting rid of plenty of pw, I also came across an envelope with £100 in it, which we put their some years back so we could get hold of some cash in an emergency. Thankfully we have had no emergency where we would of needed it.

I'm so happy to hear your news Bob! At last a result :-D

The company I work for (over a year ago) had a salt truck crash into one of our main businesses. Had to close for some weeks. Work and refurbishment started whilst claim going through. The insurance company went bust! So no more to pay for work done! Insurance company who took over promised to pay, never did. Company was few days from going bankrupt. Luckily a investor saved the company.

Bob yes I think a smile goes a long way, espically to the regular tippers. Someone put a smile face on my bill the other week, cheeky monkeys :-D though I did tip very well due to it being one of the nicest menus I've seen (choice not presentation) lovley food, good staff and a dessert that blew me away!!! I don't currentky give bills out, but once we start serving food after a few things are sorted out, I think I will definitely do this, mainly though as it really fits my personality. Thanks for the suggestion :-D

£2 in tips today. Quite so happy with that. Looking forward to busier days once food does kick in xxx

That is fantastic news, Bob, so glad your persistence finally paid off!

We've heard back about the house and they can't do the building work required to move in with the in laws so it looks like the deal's off :( They are still going to look around but they would end up paying more for a smaller house than they have now. It's a sixties house and you get a lot for your money.

Another house has come on in my road, I don't know whether my buyers will decamp to them but I'll be interested to see what they get for it (I'm sure they would tell us as he stopped DH to ask him how long it took to sell ours.) Maybe it's for the best, things do seem to be going on for silly money at the moment, an ex local authority terraced house on other side of the tracks to us has just gone on at fifty quid shy of half a million. Unbelievable.
