Might I politely suggest you try working some overtime or getting a second job if you need money instead of wasting people's time by making frivolous complaints about events that never happened!!!
 Nasty piece of work. Probably a disgruntled PPI handler
@ the OP ignore this dodgy character keep trying, dig deeper they will try to put you off but if your sure you have PPI on them which you probably will. get it back, its sometimes not that simple but needs just a push and a bit of hard admin, that's why theses firms cash in on people with the 30% rip off fee. If they are really playing hard ball go to the ombudsman online. Getting your money back "is" like a second job but with a better return0 -

You're correct. Anyone who would put in fraudulent complaints to 20 separate organisations is indeed a nasty piece of work!!!
Alternatively if your comment related to me then you can call me that if you want. It's no skin off my nose. The long and short of it is whilst I am perfectly willing to assist and advise those who genuinely have been wronged, I have no truck with the ambulance chasing, never-my-fault compensation culture that now pervades our society.@ the OP ignore this dodgy character keep trying, dig deeper they will try to put you off but if your sure you have PPI on them which you probably will. get it back
That's the whole point, the OP does not appear to have any idea whether he/she has ever taken out PPI with anything. Hence the statement:I have no paperwork and only a few policy numbers but I would have thought that at least one of them would have been a positive response.... All I seem to hear are stories of people writing one letter and within a week receiving a cheque for £10 million pounds! (ok slight exaggeration but you get my drift)
So, no idea whether he/she has ever taken out PPI with anything, however, has simply sent speculative letters making false accusations against 20 different providers. The sole reason trying it on because he/she has heard stories about other people getting money. 20 providers who don't appear to have done anything wrong, merely offered to lend the OP money when he/she needed it.If they are really playing hard ball go to the ombudsman online. Getting your money back "is" like a second job but with a better return
Of course they are going to play "hard ball", they have been falsely accused of misselling a product that never existed. If the OP goes to FOS with this load of nonsense even they will not hesitate to rule the whole thing frivolous/vexatious. Unfortunately, that is not always the case, hence FOS running up £900 case fees that ultimately get passed onto the bank's customers.
Regretably, the FCA frown on firms attempting to charge customers for time wasting complaints. If it was up to me, people who put in complaints like this would be both billed for the time and charged with fraud.0 -

Your post contains one too. :rotfl:
How do you propose someone gets a refund of a PPI policy that never existed, one that they paid precisely £0 towards?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

Hi,
First post so forgive me if I am out of line. 20 letters to 20 companies seems a bit extreme.
I had been pestered like everyone else over PPI for a number of months, it may have even been years, when I think on it now, about signing up with a claims firm and seriously thought about doing it myself, but I work for a local authority as a council tax employee and have never found the time and the idea of then handing over at least 20 to 30% as a fee was annoying.
Anyway we deal with all sorts of issues around council tax claims. in February of this year I dealt with a client who had Council Tax problems and in the interview we got talking about PPI and claims and fees, she advised that she dealt with a company in November of last year that charged a fixed fee of £100 and did not charge any percentage for a PPI claim.
I told her it was probably some type of scam, but she had been referred from her local CAB and she did receive a PPI settlement and in fact she was only charged £100 plus an additional £10 for other paperwork. So she gave me their details, I spoke with the CAB as we deal with them daily and they confirmed the story. The company was called weber wolf.
Anyway I check them out they were licensed by the Ministry Of Justice as a claims Co and had been trading for a few years. I joined up in mid January and got a settlement cheque last Thursday of just over £2318. They were true to their word, it cost me £110 in total.
I know I could have probably done this myself. I don't know of any other claims firm with a fixed fee. Anyway hope this post helps.
Aleck.
According to there T&Cs page:
http://www.weberwolf.com/
Their fee is 25% plus the attendant VAT of any succesful claim. File the above post in your spam folder.
Coincidently Edinburgh is the location of the poster and the trading address of Webberwolf. Is it a weird world, or is it another example of how far CMC's will lie, you decide.

REPLY ON BEHALF OF WEBER WOLF SERVICES
(i) - Our terms and conditions (Sct 8.) clearly state: "8.2a For PPI case claims - We charge a fee of £100 plus VAT - With no additional fees for PPI claim processing"
(ii) - We do not charge a %age fee for any PPI cases - We offer a fixed fee. Our position on PPI fees and opinion on CMC gross overcharging clients is a matter of record.
(iii) - Bellshill is the location of our trading address in Scotland not Edinburgh.0 -
Sorry this is a question not a reply but I couldn't see another way to post! Thanks to help from this site last year the FSO has found in my favour in a credit card PPI claim against Lloyds. Could someone please explain how the compound interest element of any comp is calculated. I've been paying PPI for over 30 years so this could be a big part. What % is applied and is it from when the monthly PPI payment was made to now?
Thanks

It's simple interest not compound
CC PPI you would get a refund of the premiums paid, 8% simple interest and, I believe where but for the PPI element you would have been in credit, interest on that tooSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

Nasqueron. Thanks for that. It's just that I've seen mention of compound so often in these posts. Would have made a big difference but if it's simple then it is! Hopefully still better than nothing.0

8% is better than any savings account you would have had for at least the last 20 years so it's a bonus yes, enjoy the moneySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
