Tesco PAYG Triple Credit

Hi MSE

something came to my attention today that Tesco do not actually TRIPLE your credit.

I topped up £15 in may and today I received my triple credit of £30 ?

tesco website stipulates

£10 gives you £20
£15 gives you £30
£20 gives you £40

I'm no mathematician, but where is the maths here.

Tesco maximum free credit is £40

has anyone else experienced this confusion?

Isn't it that the credit is additional ...so £10 gives you £20 extra so £30 in total ???
It's not just about the money

Unless you have a time machine you can't top up in the future.
Did you mean march or april ?

Yes, that's exactly what it is. I don't think it's an especially great deal, given how high their basic per minute rates are and especially given that the free credit expires after a month.

You had £15, they gave you £30 so that makes £45. In what way has the original £15 not been tripled?

Tesco's "Triple Credit" is a marketing ploy. Just compare it to no-frills Tesco Lite.

In the way that it expires in a month. THe other 15 does not. Does it not also use the first £15 before the 'bonus' credit?

SO if you want to eek out that 15 over a few months, then this tripling is utterly useless.

Thus its not been tripled at all and is a very basic marketing ploy, bordering on a con.

IMHO it only for any use to those who only want a one month deal to make loads of calls and if its for longer, would be far better off on a £10 a month plan

No, the free credit is used up first.
